Is this poll a joke? Why not a series in the same league as Harry Potter, such as Twilight?

I hope you're not fucking serious. Twilight could never compare to HP. Harry Potter was probably one of the best things to happen to fantasy novels and films of the time. What kind of juxtapose is that? HP and Twilight... wtf...

I was referring to their quality but yeah, my 13yo niece is currently equally obsessed with both, which makes me a little sad...:/

i agree that this comparison doesn't exactly make sense.. but at the same time, last semester i took a class comparing Narnia, Golden Compass and LoTR.
Why is LoTR put in the same class as these children's books? Just because its fantasy?

Yeah, the big distinction there is that both Tolkien and Lewis were devout christians which influenced their work to some extent, I haven't read or seen Golden Compass but I hear it's very very anti god.
