I didn't realize there was so much Doctor Whoabilia on MB. Urban's thread begins with a catalogue of all the story lines, of which there have been many, so what with Trollheart's Couch Potato posts as well, this thread should stay specific: the changeover from David Tennant to Matt Smith - did it test your loyalty?

I know my nephew's two daughters were worried at the departure of hearthrob David Tennant, but when they realized that one young man with a virile-looking haircut was being replaced by another young man with a virile-looking haircut, they were able to weather the change without tears...

I kind of think it always does. You get used to the one guy and say "Ah the next guy won't be as good", but he almost always is. Even going back to Jon Pertwee's day, the changeover to Tom Baker was a real seismic shock, but we all grew to love Baker even more than Jon. I loved CE in the first season of the reboot, hated that he was gone so quickly, got to love DT, slowly warmed to MS and sort of fell off with the whole series around the PC-era, but I thought he was ok. I appreciated him more once I had seen him in The Thick Of It and realised what a great actor he is.
