Eh, I would go with a 360. I am a Sony fan boy, but all my favorite Sony titles are for the ps2, which I already have.

However, I do not have either, and will never purchase either. I have a pretty decent pc, which is more than capable when compared to the system consoles.

As for the PSP thing.. I had one, I thought they were beyond ****. But each to their own, if your mate likes it then fair play. I found it totally useless.
I think you are crazy. The PSP is a marvel. Its level of customization is pretty crazy. One can emulate any system from the n64 ea, and before. It can also be used in many other ways besides gaming. Reading Ebooks has never been easier, listening to music, and competent web browsing are also present. Not to mention being a pretty decent mp3/video player. It also has a pretty large variety of games, competent in all game genres when it comes to selection, plus many great exclusives. It is taking handheld gaming into the same world as console gaming when it comes to how seriously people are taking it, and the quality of games being produced.

They're virtually the same.
No, I think I'm going to stand by my observation and say I can't really use a 360 controller well. And I'm not a spastic .

Absolutely, I find the controllers pretty different.

the 360 has an analogue stick on the top left, unless I've been using the wrong controllers thats pretty different.

And for the wire discussion, PS3 half tackled that problem. By making wireless controllers, but the only problem is, if your controller runs out of battery, the usb goes into the top.

And on the Circle for "B" discussion, well it wouldn't make much sense if a friend said, right press B now, cos I have no idea where the letters are on a 360 controller, so they will say "circle" as I'm used to PS3 controllers, it really makes sense to say that.

The Xbox controllers are awful. They're huge and uncomfortable to use in my opinion.

I've never owned a 360 but i did own an Xbox. I actually won it and therefore got it for free, borrowed quite a few games off a mate and bought a few others myself too. I never liked it though, it collected dust and i part exchanged it when i got my PS3.

I'm PS3 all the way. The PSN doesnt match up to Xbox live just yet but i feel it's getting better all the time and then when you consider i want my console to play DVD's and other things as well then the 360 is gonna cost me alot more money in the long run, money i'm personally not willing to play.

I swapped consoles with a mate of mine for a few weeks too when he wanted to play the last Metal Gear and i've played a 360 a few times at other mates houses and it's definitely not for me. Theres not many 360 exclusives that would make me put my hand in my pocket.

I've never liked the saturn, gamecube, or N64 controllerss acually. The button layouts just never felt right compared to playstation or xbox.

not specific to you but for anyone writing off the xbox controller as huge and crap...

try anything they released after the original controller. i'm pretty sure microsoft owned up to pooping the bed in regards to the initial design. the wireless ones were awesome and the 360 ones are about the same size.

it makes them slightly larger than the PS3 controller but smaller than a PSP, and definitely not football sized like the originals.

It's frustrating that sony doesn't just update their console so it matches xbox live already. The only piece they're really missing is cross game invites and chat.

It seems so obvious to include it, right after a price drop and new advertising campaign. I admit i know nothing about implementing software, but it really can't be that hard.

If they can make something like home they should be able to do the simple stuff.

Only the original though, the redesigned Xbox controller was solid and it's the basis for the 360 one, it's not without it's flaws but IMO it's better than the Duelshock controllers and the wireless 360 controller is just fantastic.

Heh, one of the big reasons I'd rather have a 360 than a PS3 is because of it's backwards compatability, and I really want to check out games like Psychonauts and Panzer Dragoon Orta.

Blah, I admire the 360 for actually being what it's supposed to be, A GAME SYSTEM.

Well here's a short list of reasons why I am more interested in the 360 than the PS3.

1. Better controller
2. More interesting exclusives... Gears of War 2, Fable II, Dead Rising, Mass Effect
3. Backwards compatability with original Xbox games
4. Xbox Live Arcade
5. While some might call the Xbox achievements a novelty, I think it's a brilliant way to give games more replay value, and actually being able to save your score and share it with your friends so you can show them how inferior they are to you? Ah yes, the spirit of the arcade lives on

Dude the original Saturn controller was amazing, and IMO the best controller of the 5th gen systems, it was basically the same as the 6 button Genesis controller, but with shoulder buttons.

Granted not having a joystiq made it awkward for 3D games, which the Saturn didn't really excell in aside from a few titles, Nights did come with a redesigned controller with an analog stick if I recall.

you mean like how the PS3 can play any PS1 game and most PS2 games, and depending on the model, with improved graphical quality on PS2 titles?

they also call achievements trophies. have you actually seriously looked at a PS3 before?

you can also get Psychonauts for the pc (usually in a pack with Beyond Good and Evil). both are horribly underrated sleeper hits.

Heh, I didn't know it was backwards compatable with PS2 games, that makes me wonder why PS2s are still being produced then.

Oh yeah, that's right, MOST PS2 games.

Hmm... What games can't it play?

Ok I didn't know that, but even if I owned a PS3 I probably wouldn't have known that.

I haven't even gotten my Wii online yet.

I'll probably end up getting BG&E for the Gamecube though.

not sure what PS2 games it can't handle, i'm thinking it's probably earlier stuff with less conventional 'fixes' to achieve certain elements. i played through FF12 with full widescreen support and anti-aliasing a while back and it looked NICE.

as for the connectivity let me get this straight...

online achievements are a pro for the 360, as part of a service you have to pay for monthly. yet you haven't connected a device that has free online services... and remained ignorant of another device that offers the same service for free.

have you ever actually looked at a PS3 before?
