Default Californication

I cannot be the only person here who loves this show.

For those not in the loop, the easiest way to describe it is John Holmes playing the main character in a Hunter S. Thompson novel. The plot is thick with situational irony and while it's far from being a comedy, the characterization is grotesquely hilarious. David Duchovny is PERFECT as the main character and I'm struggling to think of an episode that's left me disappointed yet.

Any other fans out there?

I'm in. I was really turned off at first because it seemed like such a typical guy show, but Duchovny has proven himself a decent actor through this series. I've not seen anything from Season 2, but suppose I'll check it out soon.

yeah, i know what you mean.

i thought it was going to be a regurgitated version of Entourage but i really think there's a bit more substance and depth to the characters than what those kind of shows tend to offer. and Duchovny is absolutely brilliant.

i'm still kind of disoriented because i didn't get to catch the last half of season 1 but everything so far has been awesome.

I watched faithfully throughout season one, but I haven't seen it since. I liked it a lot though, I'll have to go to the video store and play catch-up.

tried to get into. I dunno, it was just a bit too boring. Only watched the first 3 episodes though

I watched the first six or so episodes last year and found it interesting - Hank certainly is an amusing protagonist. I'll probably return to it sometime over the summer.

I've seen every episode. This season is... I'unno. Getting a bit sick of the whole Hank/Karen thing.
