In addition to the animation being excellent. What made it a great movie was how well the story and characters were developed, how faithful it was to the time setting and all the cool sci fi references and parodies of 50s American culture.

Overall a fantastic film.

My favorite would have to be Finding Nemo, the best story, best direction and story development, the funniest (probably Ellen Degeneres' finest moments) and by far the best list of supporting characters of any animated film I've seen with a pretty good message behind it. Nothing else is as consistently good as this film (for example, there's a pretty obvious disparity between the first 40 minutes of Wall-e, which are brilliant, and the rest of the film).

So yeah, Nemo all the way.
Blah, Wall-E is superior to Finding Nemo. The second half of Wall-E is still great, even if it's not as good as the first.

As far as track record goes, nobody beats Pixar. They have yet to make a mediocre film (that's right, I liked Cars, suck me).

As far as classical animation goes, Princess Mononoke was the most impressive but I haven't seen it in a while.
Yeah if we're talking technical chops no one beats Miyazaki. Spirited Away is probably his best on a technical level. Though Mononoke isn't far behind, the opening scene with the boar demon and snakes was absolutely jaw dropping.

Oh I did and I loved that as one well. In fact, I'm a fan of the entire series!

I haven't seen it but I'm a fan of both Bakshi and Frazetta so I dunno why I haven't.

I saw that in junior high and can't remember a single thing about it. That's not usually a good sign for me.
