I actually liked The Abyss, a lot.
![]() As for True Lies, I mean it's stupid as all hell, but it's fun and entertaining. I agree with Tore on Titanic, it's not my kind of movie, but I appreciate it as an extremely well made piece of filmmaking, it's an old fashioned tragic romance story, and I think for what it tried to be it succeeded. IMO, his only bad film is this. The guy has come a loooooooooooooooong way. Last edited by boo boo; 09-12-2009 at 02:39 PM. |

Contrary to what one might think from watching clips etc, the flying fish are nowhere enough to make the movie funny. I can't remember any humorous stuff from it that was intentional, so I don't think it's a parody. My guess is it just failed.

Ah, I think I just figured out the source of my confusion. Looks like the first Piranha movie, which was directed by Joe Dante and written by John Sayles, is the one that was a parody. What a weird decision to make a non-parody sequel to a parody movie. No wonder it turned out so awful.

Also this movie was edited and spliced up without Cameron's consent, he did the shooting for the film but other than that his role in the production was very minimal. And in a lot of interviews he calls The Terminator his first film, hmm. maybe this is one movie he'd like to forget. ![]() Last edited by boo boo; 09-14-2009 at 10:11 AM. |
