Do you know that Italian saying?: "Traduttore, traditore" ("Translator, traitor").
It can be applied to movies too. I always prefer the original audio version, despite the trouble of reading subtitles. Even if I have to see things like John Wayne as a Roman centurion saying "Truly this man was the son of God". Actors' voices tell you much about their performance in the film, even if you don't know the language.
