Yeah, Eli Roth, I'm pretty sure he's only in that movie because he's buddies with Quentin.

1. The movie was incredible.
2. Brad Pitt was comic relief and comic relief only, the ad campaign was centered around him for the purpose of selling tickets, not because he's the focus of the movie.
3. The main (Foreign, previously unkown in the U.S.) actors were incredible, Eli Roth can't ruin a whole movie...
4. There's no dubbing it's the actors speaking English. I'd prefer subtitles to unexplained universal speaking of English, but there is some French and German spoken and the language spoken never actually detracts from the movie.
5. The movie has 'depth and substance' in spades, it's unlike and other Tarantino movie I've seen.

saw it tonight and loved it.

Just out of curiosity, why did everyone hate the bear jew guy so much? I don't remember a line he said but he seemed good to me.

I think you kind of answered your own question there, he really didn't do anything memorable other than smashing a nazi's skull in with a bat. The fact that you can't even remember a line of his kind of proves that he didn't really add anything to the movie.

I just remember a line where he was supposed to have a new jersey accent. I don't care if the characters are satirical, he still sounded awful.

I liked the opening scene, Hans Landa is definately one of the more original Nazis I've seen portrayed on screen.

Landa stole the show.

ah, now I understand. The bat scene was pretty gruesome though.

Also I agree about Landa being great in the movie.

I finally got around to watching it and after awhile I just started looking for the QT formula

"lengthy dialogue" check
"foot fetish type scene" check
"strong woman character stereotype" check

To me it was just another Tarantino film. The entertaining part was near the end I would say the last hour or so, but that's about it.

Eli Roth didn't have many lines especially compared to other characters so of course you wouldn't remember what he said.
