What do you guys think about FF13 losing its exclusivity
 

As some of you may already know, a lot of playstation 3 games are becoming multi-platform, and now to add to the plethora of that list, FF13 is also set to being released on the XBOX 360. I think if sony keeps losing their exclusivity rights to certain games, such as Final Fantasy, then they are headed for a downward spiral. Because honestly, the main reason for me in getting a PS3 is to play FF13, what do you all think about PS3 losing ther exclusivity rights to these staple sony games?

as long as the port isn't shit it officially reduces my reasons to purchase a PS3 down to 0.

well 1up is generally a well respected site so if they're reporting it, there's probably some truth to it.

there's been a 360 in the apartment for over a week. it's still in the box. the ps3 still gets used everyday.

to each their own i suppose. with the proper setup the ps3 is a very nice machine. exclusivity? who cares. i play what i like. i'll admit i was bothered when nintendo lost it's FF exclusivity but then again i was also still in high school and honestly thought it mattered for something (it doesn't)

Well, I understand what you mean, for me personally I've always been a sony guy, but the one thing that sony always had that was a cut above the rest were it's amazing selection of games, imagine the ps2 has close to more than 1200 games! I honestly hope they can rally around some of these great selections...

All you get out of having a game exclusive to your console is bragging rights to use against fanboys of another console, in this case the Xbox 360.

The PS3 has plenty of great upcoming exclusive titles anyways (MAG, God Of War III, Uncharted 2, Heavy Rain, ModNation Racers, Gran Turismo 5, probably missing more).

Sony is so f*cked right now.

GTA and FF were their trump cards, they couldn't have beaten Nintendo without them, they don't have them anymore, the only thing they have left is MGS, and it probably wont be long until it goes multiplatform too.

360 and PS3 are basically the same damn console, so what reason do third party developers have to make games exclusive to just one of them? Well for whatever reason 360 has way more exclusives, so save a few first party titles, PS3 ain't got jack sh*t.

wrong. because like Microsoft and unlike Nintendo, the PS3 is only a small part of Sony's market share of electronics & software. they could continue to make platforms like they do now and not experience any adverse effects for years to come. they've stabilized their revenue enough from other ventures to be able to endure the loss of a franchise or two.

In other words, they can pretty much get away with making sh*tty, useless consoles for decades to come.

Hooray for multimedia corporations.

This is basically what I what saying... Sony needs their exclusive rights to these trademark games... or else xbox will inevitably win this next gen console war.
