That makes absolutely no sense.

It's no secret that The Wii lacks multiplatform games because of it's inferior processing power, and I really don't care. Multiplatform games don't make a console better, if anything they just make a console more worthless when all it has are multiplatform games that are also on a superior console with it's own exclusives to match, this is why PS3 is completely worthless.

In the old days, consoles had their own personality, their own differences, back then even when games went multiplatform, they were still very different for each platform. This meant that sometimes the SNES version was best, and sometimes the Genesis version was best, and sometimes even the Turbografx16 or Neo Geo versions were best. Same with the PS1, N61 and Saturn, multiplatform games faired very differently depending on that console's pros and cons as well as what kind of game it was, it meant that a console could claim a multiplatform game as it's own if the others sucked in comparison. Fighting games were best on the Saturn, Sports games were best on N64 and so on.

But now, 360 version or PS3 version, it really doesn't make a difference, 360 has so few first parties and it still manages to put out more games on third party support alone, the fact that it's better than PS3 despite having a tendency to just f*cking blow up whenever it feels like it is just a testament to how sh*thouse the PS3 actually is.

The Wii makes up for it's lackluster third party support with an excellent first party library, and it does too have a few great third party games, many of which have the great fortune of also being exclusives. I'd say it's exclusive library surpasses PS3 but of course there's nothing written in stone, it's all subjective opinion.

Except PS3 sucking ass, that's objective.

yes.... this would have absolutely nothing at all to do with the relative simplicity of developing for the 360 as opposed to the continued learning curve of the ps3. hmmm what are games developed on? and who makes the OS most pcs run on? and who creates the bulk of application programming interfaces most games use (direct X)? i seem to recall early PR for the 360 being tantamount to the console being a stand alone gaming pc. geez... i wonder WHY so many 3rd party games come out for the 360... could it possibly be that the publishers realized that it offered a better cut of the market than releasing on the pc and had significantly less piracy? NOOooooooo it must be because the ps3 sucks.

So you're telling me the PS3 can't get support because the 360 has more market appeal for PC gamers, and because of how difficult it is to program for and that somehow proves it DOESN'T suck?

Great argument.

Lets see, the PS3 couldn't even beat a console that had already been out for a year (and it's usually that kinda timing that sends consoles to an early grave, especially in Sega's case), or even The Wii which has no multimedia capabilities, inferior graphics and relatively little third party support.

Yeah, I'd say it's pretty much a total failure.

it's also an industry that generates somewhere around $40 billion per year and is just expected to keep increasing. it's not about being right, or having the best console, or making the best games. it's a product, there is supply and demand, along with an industry to support it.

either way i've pretty much had my yearly fill of 'discussion' about video games here. thanks for helping me dodge that bullet, i almost considered getting back into it.

And as you have all proven time and time again, how a fun a product is is completely irrelevant when compared to all the useless gadgets it has and it's market value.

I'm not a very wealthy person, I own a Wii and nothing else, and I can go on for months without buying a game because I just plain don't f*cking have the money to even buy a used game for 10 bucks.

And I guess that makes me very out of place, because todays gamers market consists entirely of spoiled rich c*nts who think a console is worthless if doesn't have enough games where they can rent, beat and throw away 50 of them in a f*cking month.

Today's gamers are goddamn idiots, they wouldn't know a fun game if it bit their d*ck off.

In another thread I showed that the PS3 matches the Xbox 360's quantity of quality titles... yet here you go again. OH THE PS3 ONLY HAS QUALITY MULTIPLATFORM TITLES AND THEREFORE ITS A PEACE OF SHIT 400 DOLLAR PAPERWEIGHT

Maybe this would be true if we were talking about the PS3's FIRST SIX MONTHS on the market. This is 2009 for Pete's sake, and I could easily name ten quality exclusive titles off the top of my head that you will find nowhere else.
