They thought outside of the box, and of course, an industry should never do that, they should just conform. Quote:

Convergence is a very new trend, how arrogant it is to just write off everything that came before. You telling me the NES is boring just because all it could do was what it was supposed to do? Are we so obsessed with quantity now that we can't accept a good product just because it can only do ONE thing. What has mankind come to? Quote:

Why? Well let me tell you why. In the 90s (You see, most of us are young adults who grew up in that period) Nintendo and Sega were huge rivals, kids always argued over who was better, Mario or Sonic. Kids either had a Genesis or a SNES, I was lucky enough to have both, I grew up on both Mario and Sonic but was always bummed that I couldn't play both on one console. So I couldn't tell you how freaking excited I was to learn that not only would Mario and Sonic be on the same console, but they would share a game together. When Brawl came out, and I pitted Mario against Sonic in a death match for the first time. Yeah, that was a big deal. It was only something I had been wishing for since childhood, so yeah, Brawl, that was the greatest f*cking nostalgia trip a guy like me could ask for. If only you had any understanding of what it was like to grow up at that time, you'd understand. Nintendo and Sega were huge rivals in the 90s, it was like The Beatles vs The Rolling Stones, seriously. That rivalry paved the way for Sony and Microsoft. Also, one good Sonic game? Wtf. Are you joking? I'd take Sonic 3 & Knuckles over generic next gen shooters anyday. All the 2D Sonic games are top notch, including the more recent ones, the first two Sonic Adventure games were good if flawed, but all the 3D games that followed has really brought the series down, I admit to that. Still. I see we're about to have a fanboy cat fight. That can be avoided right now if you just admit that everything you said is wrong. |

hahahaha Ive actually disagreed with everything youve just about ever said about video games but have always hesitated to speak out against your retro gaming/Nintendo fanyboyism and I used to love Nintendo but since the N64 they've been going downhill. Gamecube is probably the biggest waste of money on Ive ever spent on a console (and I had a Dreamcast) I remembering selling it only to buy it again when RE4 (because it was GameCube Exclusive) came out for it, and about a year later it came out on PS2, go figure. Nintendo isn't thinking outside to the box they think like a toy company put some flashy characters collecting collecting shiny stars or coins and a control gimmick and hey you're selling millions of consoles. It's a very family oriented console isn't it? That's why the Wii always gets a big buzz whenever a violent and bloody game comes out on it. So you start getting insipid games like Madworld. Umm btw the last 8 or 9 generations of consoles didn't have motion sensored controls did they? NO if it isnt broke there isnt a need to fix it, sure its fun if I want to mess around with my friends or give my grandfather the experience of bowling without him ever ever having to lift a ball. "Gee, we have middle aged men climbing mount everest.
But moving your right arm? WAY too much effort. And they wonder why are generation will be the last." I think it's because we'd rather pick a fake bowling ball then get our fatasses out the door and pick up a real one. Convergence isnt a trend its just modernism, wake up we live in a world were a robot can mow my lawn while I watch the Dark Knight on blur ray on my PS3, the times theyre a chagin boobs. haha I wouldn't doubt that your cell as is your taste in games wasn't made after 1995. Also I can only save princess peach and zelda so many time before I say 'fuck it' and put down the controler. Sadly the same thing is happening to Solid Snake of Metal Gear with the PS, he's becoming their Mario, I can only hope Xbox won't do that to Master Chief but they probably well, even though the first 3 games are bad enough (except the multiplayer).

That's what a video game console is. A toy. Quote:

You made a thread about the 360 and PS3.
If you didn't expect some fanboy battles to take place, you still have a whole lot to learn about the internet. |
