Fallout 3 is also on the PS3. :D
|

I'd say 360 easily because most of the PS3's best games you can get on the 360 anyway. At the end of the day if you ain't buying it what's to lose? |
Everyone's like GEARS and HALO. I say KILLZONE 2 and METAL GEAR SOLID 4.
|
Quote:
This is just... Screw it, I'm getting the 360. |

Quote:
I can't stand stealth games either though so MGS would be out as well. |
I actually like those games. =P
And I already have a Zune. Might as well continue with Microsoft. xD |

Metal Gear Solid 4 was great though, one of my favourites. Even though there was ridiculously long cutscenes the spectacular gameplay and interesting story more than made up for it. Yeah, it's too bad MGS is going to the 360. Damn Konami. |
This is the question I pose to myself whenever I have to make a difficult decision: "Will I ejaculate?"
Both consoles are so evenly matched that it really comes down to personal preference. If you're willing to sacrifice very miniscule graphical difference and a few exclusive titles for a cheaper console then I'd say go for the 360. The only risk that you take is they are far more likely to break down. If you do go down the 360 path then all I can say is BUY NEW. |
XBox is far superior to all its poor excuses for rivals.
|
Blah.
I can at least understand why people prefer the 360, it has a larger library of solid games. But I'm not the kinda person who buys like 10 games a month, so for me, it's quality over quantity, that's one reason I prefer the Wii, it's library of quality games is modest, but they're the kinda games I actually care to play. I really don't give a damn for all the shooters and RPG's that dominate the 360 like mad. The PS3 however, what a worthless piece of sh*t, better than The Wii? C'mon. I can't believe it has the kinda following it has when just about every game people care about is also on the 360, it's a total embarassment to the video game industry. It doesn't even have a monopoly on GTA and Final Fantasy anymore, and those have been Sony's trump cards for years. |
Quote:
Really, what makes the Xbox so special over the PS3? |
I find it kind of ironic that you're talking about quality over quantity for the Wii considering the only Wii games even worth buying are the continuation of their decrepit franchises like Mario, Zelda, and Metroid. Sure there are the occasional odd gems like No More Heroes and Zack and Wiki but I mean... c'mon Nintendo create a new franchise or at least reboot one.
|
I'm in the same boat, researching for the best buy. I don't know yet which one I'll get, but I'm leaning 360. It's actually been years since I had a console--I got rid of a Playstation when I bought an old house that needs all my attention--but I'm almost done and GAME ON! During winter, anyway, when ain't sh*t else to do.

You can't knock the Wii over quantity and then praise PS3. The Wii at least has exclusives. |

So that's decrepit, as opposed to just playing the same damn shooters over and over? I think the Wii has a strong if modest library of good games. Brawl, Galaxy, TP, MP3, Super Paper Mario, Okami, Mario Kart Wii, etc. The thing is, from the start the Wii was the most affordable, theorefore appealing to lower income families like mine, people who can't blow their money on 30 goddamn games a week, like all the spoiled rich douchebags that make up a good bulk of the gaming community. |

Nintendo have been in the industry much much longer, so of course they have some ancient franchises.
But again, I find that to be a double standard. What has PS3 been riding the coat tails on? Metal Gear Solid, Grand Theft Auto and Final Fantasy. Just like, I dunno, a decade and a half ago? Nintendo keeps their old franchises going, that doesn't mean they're not trying new ideas, turning Metroid into a FPS was a pretty wise move and Galaxy was a great success and with SMG2 it pretty much launched a franchise of it's own. Nintendo do have newer franchises. Pikmin, Animal Crossing, Warioware, Advance Wars, Golden Sun, etc. Though I admit I'd like to actually see Nintendo expand on the newer franchises a little. Where's Pikmin 3? Give us a new Star Fox already, it would be a horrible mistake if they pass that up, especially with the great potential the wiimote would have for that kinda game. They should dust off some of the older Nintendo franchises. Like Kid Icarus and Earthbound. But hey, there's a new Punch Out now, so who knows? I'm still pulling for the Wii though. I know they're working on a Kirby platformer which I'm excited about, in adidition to Super Mario Galaxy 2, a Wii exclusive sequel to New Super Mario Bros, a third person Metroid and a sequel to Sin & Punishment that will actually be available in the states. I don't know about you, but things seem pretty cool with me. The new Punch Out looks pretty sweet. |
Don't for a second think that my frustration is limited solely to the Wii and Nintendo boo boo. I have enough hatred inside of me and the 360 gets just as much. I mean it wasn't the Wii that broke down the very day I started my 3 month "vacation" from work due to a broken foot. I have just as many complaints about the games out on the 360, PC, and PS3. I admire Nintendo for staying in the console race for as long as they have. I can also admire (to a degree) the continuation of their franchises to entice new fans of the series. I also agree with you that turning Metroid into an FPS was an incredibly wise decision. However like I said, for the Wii the lines are really being drawn in the sand for games. The stuff that's actually worth buying is almost always going to be 1st party games that are the continuation of a franchise, I mean how many times can you save the Princess or defeat Bowser before it gets monotonous? I think that games like Assassin's Creed, [Prototype], and inFAMOUS have their place (which is keeping us entertained until the next Big Game comes out), but you can't get them on the Wii. All you get are third party casual games, or Nintendo's main franchises. I just think the Wii is a little limited to what you can get. Anyways, I think we'll just have to agree to disagree, we've both made good points and I think we should just leave it at that. You love your Wii and I'm slowly beginning to feel myself getting more and more convinced that gaming just isn't for me anymore.
|
Yeah, one thing you gotta give the Wii credit for is that it's f*cking sturdy.
Cats have made me drop the thing countless times, still works. As opposed to 360, which likes to catch on fire just because you looked at it in a certain way. However I've already acknowledged that 360 has a lot of great games. PS3 might have, I dunno, 1 or 2, LittleBigPlanet looks awesome, but doesn't everybody hate that game now because of it's lack of guns and trash talking guys on steroids? So whatever. Gamers, f*ck em. |
You aren't even helping anymore. I don't want the Wii.

Wii (or Nintendo in general) markets to a younger more family oreinted audience. While XBow and PS are left to battle it out for the hardcore adult gamers. The whole thing about exclusive title this and compatability that is stupid, just but the 360 and be done with it. I've been with XBox from the start, I've owned one Xbox and one 360 and neither have ever let me down. The ABSOLUTE only thing PS3 has on Xbox is Blu-ray cabability. That's it. Xbox owns everything else, and came out way sooner. Microsoft is ahead of the curve folks, do the math. Now to break it down by demograhic: Kids (age 5-13, or Adults that act like kids): Nintendo Wii Adult Gamers (13-30): XBox 360 People Who like to Use stupid Uncomfortable and non-ergonomic controllers and try to pretend their online play even comes close to rivaling Xbow Live:Playstation 3 Which do you fall under? |

And that's too biased, I can't pick one! =P I asked my friend cause he's a gamer and he says he likes X-Box better cause his hands are too big for the PS controller. That didn't help. =P |

I will make you a list based on the general consensus, of the best exclusives. LittleBigPlanet Metal Gear Solid 4 Killzone 2 MLB '09 The Show Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction Uncharted: Drake's Fortune Valkyria Chronicles Flower Resistance: Fall Of Man Resistance 2 Motorstorm Motorstorm 2: Pacific Rift Warhawk Gran Turismo 5 inFAMOUS What does the Xbox have? Halo 3 Gears Of War Gears Of War 2 Braid Mass Effect Fable II Left 4 Dead Forza Motorsport 2 Project Gotham Racing 3 Dead Rising Viva Pinata Crackdown Dead Or Alive 4 Banjo Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts The Xbox 360 has also been on the market longer. Even if the PS3 WAS lacking in the games department, you couldn't blame it for not having as many quality exclusives. Edit: and I'm not trying to dis the Wii here either. It's definitely a legitimate gaming console with some GREAT exclusives. Super Mario Galaxy Super Smash Bros Brawl The Legend Of Zelda: Twilight Princess Metroid Prime 3 Super Paper Mario No More Heroes Madworld World Of Goo Boom Blox Boom Blox Bash Party Punch Out!! Warioware: Smooth Moves Mario Kart Wii de Blob LostWinds I'm pretty sure The Conduit is a damn good game too, even if it doesn't set the FPS genre on fire. I'm gonna pick it up soon. |
Anybody who says the ps3 OR the wii are lacking good exclusives isn't looking very hard.
The ps3 and 360 are generally the same console, if your looking for that kind-off experience you can't go wrong with either one. |

I have to admit Uncharted 2 looks like it's going to be blinding, +1 for PS3.
|
Yeah, that game looks ridiculously fun.
I'd also like to add that Super Mario Galaxy is the best game of this generation. inb4 sweet_nothing says "no, just no" |

Yeah. If I was gonna make a list of upcoming I would have included God Of War III, MAG, Uncharted 2, and Modnation Racers.

Consoles don't have the kinda distinct personalities they used to have, Wii has one and that's why people hate it. Because it doesn't conform to the latest tech nerd trends. It's fun, simple and all it does is f*cking play video games. You know, like a video game console. |
Get a fast PC and some source games.
that should satisfy you, for a while |

People need to stop looking at the Wii as an "underpowered child's toy" but rather a different kind of console that plays different kinds of games. |
Also, last gen graphics doesn't equal bad graphics, I'm sick and tired of hearing that one.
I still find a lot of the old SNES and Genesis games to be a lot more aesthetically pleasing to the eye than the turd brown color schemes of games that use Unreal Engine graphics. |
