Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil
Without a doubt, one of my favorite Kevin Spacey performances (though, to be fair, he has many!), as well as Eastwood directing at its best. Based on the true story that happened in Savannah, Georgia, it has everything: murder, voodoo, journalism, gender-bending, awesome music, courtroom banter, invisible dogs... I still can't figure out whether it's a comedy or a drama-- which IMHO is the mark of a true masterpiece. |

Solaris (remake). Hypnotic and underplayed superbly by all concerned. Cerebral without losing sight of [/QUOTE]
You mean the Clooney one? The 1972 Tarkovsky one's one of my faves. I ask because the Tarkovsky one's a remake of a 60's TV flick.

The original Solaris is waaaaaay better save for the dated cgi at the end, but the Clooney one is pretty solid too. P
