There's a lot of excellent films on your list, with one glaring exception

What's your favourite Tarkovsky film? Mine's Stalker. Also, Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead is ****ing fantastic.

I'm really unable to choose between Stalker, The Mirror and Nostalghia.
They are difficult to compare, although all unmistakably Tarkovsky.
Mirror might be the one that moved me the most, although there isn't that much plot and in a way it's basically a family drama, which is normally not something along my lane. But Mirror might also be difficult to fully appreciate if you don't speak Russian, since there are poems being recited several times in the movie.
I think I'll have to have a Tarkovsky marathon some day anyway, since I've seen his movies at different ages and periods of my life and would like to know, what impact they would have on me now, being old and wise and all that.

You have wonderful albeit a bit isolated taste in film.

I think it's better than Primer. It had a more cohesive plot with far better sound design and camera work. Don't get me wrong, Primer is amazing, I just love Upstream Color so much that I may be a bit biased.

Thanks.
It's not as isolated as might appear. I like a lot of the more known classics and I enjoy good action/thrillers/comedies etc. as much as the next person, I just wouldn't rate those among my all time favourites, those are reserved for the truly special film experiences.

I'm planning on watching Upstream Colour for some time now. It might be a weird question, but I've heard there is something about pig farming or something like that involved. Would it upset a vegetarian? I'm not vegetarian, but the girl I wanted to watch it with is. She isn't militant or anything, but I could imagine a heavy focus on meat industry might be a little unpleasant.

There really isn't any animal cruelty in the film. In fact, I'd say the film is very pro life. She should be fine with it. The pug farming is a very small aspect.

Cool. Thanks.
Also: Great typo.
Now I imagine pug farming and it's adorable.
