This is mostly because of content and that I don't like cheese so much in my film. What do you think of Tarantino's other work?
I'm definitely a fan, but I think he's had a few misfires. I suppose it's inevitable with any director. I thought the Kill Bill films were a real mess, made more for his own enjoyment rather than the audience. Death Proof didn't really do anything for me either, but when he's good, he's excellent. He's carved his own niche and I respect that.

I think basically his films divide into two categories. You've got the more focused, plot driven stuff like Django Unchained and Inglourious Basterds, then there's the more gimmicky (but equally good in their own way) 'cool' movies like Reservoir Dogs and Pulp Fiction. True Romance is one of my favourites - I think it gets the balance just right between the two styles - and From Dusk Till Dawn (which he didn't direct, but he wrote the screenplay, so I still think of it as a Tarantino movie.)

Vanilla Sky. Saw it at the cinema and fell in love with it. Up until recently I always watched it with how I relate to some of the ideas and character traits of David Ames but the last time I watched it i really practiced seeing David Ames and the other characters for who they are and how they feel and it brought a whole new perspective on the film that made it quite powerful.

Delusions of grandeur and artistic merit, I guess. If it's your vision and your vision sucks it would still feel good to put it out there. Not everyone's going to be in it for the money, especially someone with an 8 figure net worth.

I like the films, though.

I like the films also. I think he finds a really good balance between cheese/parody and telling an excellent story.

Dude WHUUUUT? I can say honestly when I saw them in the theaters I wasn't impressed but they, grew on me like a fine wine... Once I realized that indeed Tartentino wanted to make a kung fu movie... I compared it to Reservoir Dogs, and Pulp Fiction which is the wrong idea to have..It should be looked at for what it is...A ****IN EXCELLENT KUNG FU MOVIE....
