Inception was good. Muholland Drive was... strange (Stephen Lynch is weird as hell, but he's actually hilarious). Clockwork Orange was good (book's better, though). Fight Club = great. Was Black Swan any good? I mean, was it all dancing or was there more psychological thriller? Darren Aronofsky's a great director, but I had doubts about this movie.

Stephen Lynch? Urm... David.

Anyone who thinks Black Swan "is a film about ballet" is an idiot.
It follows a prominent theme of Aronofsky's - obsession.
Pi had obsession with numbers.
Requiem had obsession with drugs.
The Fountain had obsession.
The Black Swan is no different, and it shows what obsession can do.
It's a psychological downward spiral, the whole doppelganger thing is interesting as well.
Marvelous film. And the 'the book is better than the film brigade' can f*ck off.
To me, there isn't much better than good cinema.

I agree with that statement. When people compare the book to the film I don't feel like there is even a good comparison to even be made. There are things that are shown in the film that can only translate through great cinematography. And vice versa, there are certain elements of the way things are written that shine more with your imagination while you are reading it that can only be done with text. So , I don't compare the two mediums with each other. They each have their own strong points.

I guess I am an idiot, then. Sorry I asked a question. And I'm sorry that I prefer the book Clockwork Orange over the film. I prefer reading more than watching movies. I'm not in any "brigade." Lol

If I had to compare them, then films would still come out on top for me.
'The book is always better than the film' is a phrase that has frustrated me for a very long time.

Better.
I didn't mean you, I was just venting.
You were asking a question.
I've seen some people say "Why would I wanna go and see a film about ballet?", idiots.
