Default Sherlock Holmes

So I was completely stoked when I was told they were making a Sherlock Holmes movie...but now that I've seen the trailer, I'm not so sure...

Robert Downey Jr as Holmes? I'm not feeling it...

Anyone else heard about this? What y'all think?

British folks should play British literary characters methinks. Basil Rathbone still owns.

Bit before my time.

I'd go for Jeremy Brett's adaptation of him in the 80s/90s.
One of the last good things ITV ever did as a television company.

They could have at least chosen a British actor. I think Damien Lewis would be a good choice.

If it's any consolidation it's being directed by a Brit.

Meh, I think whoever can play the part the best should get the part regardless of where they're from. That's what acting is all about, playing something you're not. Nevertheless, this movie doesn't look very good. I think Robert Downey Jr. is a great actor but I don't think he's the right choice for Sherlock Holmes.

I think I agree, this looks a little sketchy. I still think it looks like it will be entertaining, but I'm guessing those who like Sherlock Holmes from before and take this movie seriously won't be happy about it.

Reminds me a bit of Dr. House
