Agreed. But knowing what a sea hag she turns into ruins it for me.

Ah, you've got a long wait ahead of you then.

I've got an even longer wait, it doesn't air here until next Wendesday.

My prediction: Sayid is Jacob reincarnated. The same way Locke is the Man in Black reincarnated. That is why it was so important to save Sayid.

Also, given that we now KNOW that the Man in Black IS the Smoke Monster, what does that reflect on the whole series? Going back to the very first episode, what do his actions mean? Lets think on what he has done:
-He kills Mr. Eko
-He tries to kill John Locke
-He listens to Ben and kills Whidmore's men
-He kills the pilot

What does it all mean?

SPOILERS:

Well he needed Ben obviously so it would make sense that he'd help him.

A theory I have is that this guy is able to take the form of anyone that has passed away which is why he kills people as the smoke monster, assumes their indentity and uses that to manipulate people.

In other words all the dead people that visit Hurley and others is actually this guy, this would also explain the contrast between how Miles communicates with dead people and how everyone else communicates.

Then apparently he can leave the island. What is his home I wonder? I'm assuming perhaps he means his own time? I know he can't be an alien. I'm pretty sure Darlton disclaimed that.

Hmm, that does present a big hole in my theory. Perhaps his home isn't the physical earth. Perhaps he comes from some kind of spiritual realm, an alternate dimension, hell I dunno, I'm drawing straws here, but that's all you can do when it comes to a colossal mindf*ck of a show like Lost.

Same, this thread is killing me. Since it's filled to the brim of spoilers for me :(.

well, that was a bit of a let down. it wasn't bad or anything, but it really didn't have the explosive awesomeness i was expecting out of a season premiere.

the whole alternate timeline thing - was kind of predictable.
and really, what do we know now that we didn't already know?
we know that jacob's nemesis is the monster, and that the others are terrified of him.
we know that there are some more others who apparently hang out in the temple, and that's where the first survivors who disappeared are hanging out.
that's about it...
