Like Planet of the Apes (as you mentioned), Sweeney Todd, Charlie & the Chocolate Factory, and Pee-Wee's Big Adventure. I'm not saying any of these movies are bad per se, just that they are his weaker movies and I would rate them below Mars Attacks.

I was a massive Doors fan when this movie came out, not long in to the movie i was cringing, what a let down, they made one of the most charismatic men of the 20Th century look like a total "BAM" (Scottish slang for tit), the actor was perfect for the role but the part he was given was weak...

It's pretty well documanted that Jim Morrison was in fact, a total tit.
The movie like most biopics has it's share of inaccuracies (including some intentional ones for dramatic effect) but Kilmer captured Morrison's persona perfectly. Not a bad film at all. Oliver Stone gets criticized a lot for romanticizing things so he deserves some credit for not romanticizing Morrison in this film, instead he simply depicts him as the talented but severely troubled human being that he was.
