They made 3 series in the early 90s. They also made 5 stage shows which were all released on video.
They wrote a 4th series but the BBC never commissioned it.

I didnt realise they had written another series! I wont go into detail because I would hate someone telling me how a show ended but I seem to remember Bottom had a very definitive 'ending'. So, that wasnt planned?
The stage shows were good. Fairly unprofessional at times but then again with Bottom that didnt really seem to matter. The fact that they were semingly unorganised gave them a certain charm I felt. |

The first episode was pretty good. The cast seemed to slip into character straight away after such a long time away , and getting rid of Kochanski & just having the original 4 was a good idea.
~BUT Whoever made the decision of making this 3 episodes should be shot. It's quite obvious to anyone watching this was made as a 90 minute special and the decision to split into 3 parts was taken at the last minute. There was no build up , no suspense & the pacing was totally wrong for a 30 minute episode. It just stopped when it got to 30 minutes.

I haven't watched them yet. I'm going to watch all three in one sitting so hopefully the pacing won't be a problem then.
