Who needs Kate when you have Sun?

SNL hasn't been funny for a long time.

khfreek 03-04-2009 07:53 AM

The problem with Lost is they try to pile on a bunch of bullshit each episode in order for the viewers to forget about all the other nonsensical bullshit that they'll never explain. And best acted show on television my arse. Best cinematography, I'll give it that.

If you actually watched the show you'd realise that they have explained an awful lot. All of the mysteries of the first few seasons have been explained for the most part, but obviously the show's answers always raise more questions.

Jack is insanely annoying but he's such a necessary character for the show. You need that Locke vs. Jack conflict, for the belief vs. science theme that goes on.

The one thing that pisses me off about LOST is that all the other people who crashed on 815 are never shown or acknowledged at all. They are completely out of the loop on everything, and just let the main cast do everything. I understand that they can't make an interesting character out of every single 815 passenger but at least let us know that they still exist!

This season is the best since the first, I also love how there hasn't been a re-run yet. I'm pumped for the episode tonight!

But... most of them died...
Also, I know Matthew Fox. :)

I don't want everything explained straight away , I like some mystery in things I watch.

I think the first half of series 3 was probably the worst in the shows run and I began losing interest in it around that time , but after that they really picked it up & it's obvious they're taking it somewhere. They know the next series will be the last and there have been plenty of explanations since then. But they still have one and a half series to go so there's no point explaining everything just yet.

WWWP 03-04-2009 01:19 PM

I like that the show's not (generally) predictable. You might for a second think you know what's going on and then BAM, you're lost again (pun intended).

I hate that black smoke though. It's so ridiculous and lame.

Probably the most annoying thing about the show is how new characters are constantly killed off as soon as they are introduced.

I can't believe you like this show.

khfreek 03-04-2009 02:31 PM

Forget black smoke...

There's a man-eating polar bear on a tropical island to worry about.

Urban Hat€monger ? 03-04-2009 02:35 PM

The polar bears were explained ages ago.

The Dharma Initiative bought them there.

I agree. The show is funny, but it's far from thefunniest tv show ever as it is titled by everyone i know.

OK, so we've got the arrival of them explained. Now let's explain why they eat humans and can survive on a tropical island, and then disappeared with no explanation.

Polar bears eat fish from the sea , this one is on an island surrounded by sea water. Go figure.

I don't think a Polar bear attacking someone & living on fish stretches the realms of imagination too much.

That's common knowledge.

Are you a Star Wars fan? Because a real Death Star couldn't explode like that in outer space.

It's fiction, of course Lost is ridiculous, that's part of it's appeal.

Besides, if Dharma could create time traveling bunny rabbits they could probably genetically engineer a polar bear that could tolerate tropical climates.

khfreek 03-04-2009 03:11 PM

I just hated how they put in this polar bear antagonist for absolutely no reason and couldn't even bother to make it logical. That's why I think the Lost writing staff have had no idea what they're doing half the time when it didn't have to do with emotional conflict.

If you think of the polar bear as a major antagonist then you really need to brush up on your Lost.

anticipation 03-04-2009 03:59 PM

harsh.

khfreek 03-04-2009 04:05 PM

I know it wasn't a major plot point, that's what bugs me so much about it. They didn't HAVE to make it a polar bear or anything, but they did, totalling defying common sense.

Double X 03-04-2009 04:06 PM

They did it to show that the island is weird. If it was a regular bear it MIGHT have been explainable, that was the point.

Urban Hat€monger ? 03-04-2009 04:08 PM

The polar bear arrived right at the beginning of the shows run and was to illustrate that there was something not quite right about the island they crashed on.

I think it succeeded on that point.

boo boo 03-04-2009 04:08 PM

It's supposed to be confusing and not make sense, the island is supposed to be this crazy thing that requires suspension of disbelief.

anticipation 03-04-2009 04:20 PM

i hope everyone has seen this.

if you haven't, now you get to see it with fun italian subtitles :)

boo boo 03-04-2009 05:25 PM

I have and it's completely lame and unfunny.

Even MadTV's Lost parodies were funnier.

Random trivia, Jack was never meant to survive beyond the pilot, but due to viewer's immediate connection to him, his part was scripted into. But I agree with you, hard to believe they didn't intend to be Johns counterpart..

I agree on that, but there's still hope everything will make sense in the end! I don't expect it to, but maybe it really will.

What also bothers me, is that so many people talk about LOst all the time and have their theories, I find it hard to believe there's a solution in the end, not every other person has thought about already. I mean, will they suprise us in the end?

For some reason, physics is easy to ignore, but big man eating, non-overheating polar bears are a bit harder.

I think it's a good show, but there are far too many plot twists purely for the point of having s pot twist...and the whole, Not working out the whole story arch thing....kind of reminds me of bold and the beautiful. Messy, convoluted.

swim 03-08-2009 06:11 PM

Wait, there's a Polar Bear on Lost? Now I really think it sucks.

DeadDinos 03-08-2009 07:18 PM

House.

FAMILY GUY

I get asked everyday "HAVE YOU SEEN THAT ONE FAMILY GUY EPISODE?!?!?!?". It's not funny and people make to much of it.

Roygbiv 03-12-2009 08:40 PM

Scrubs is probably the most overrated show in this town.
Every friend I have drools all over it, and I can't stand it, not for one second. First: the setting, and second: Zach Braf.

Surell 03-12-2009 08:44 PM

Awww shit, more Braff haters.

Kevorkian Logic 03-12-2009 09:18 PM

I don't actually think scrubs is overrated anymore, i'm pretty sure 90% of the population thinks scrubs is god awful.

And Lost is not overrated at all. It is by far the best television show I have seen in years, I personally want to take a knife to Kate's throat and Jack's penis (I heard rumors that they were thinking of killing of Kate :)). But besides those two characters I love the show.
