Eternal sunshine of the spotless mind was a ****ing terrible film, crying out at all points to be taken seriously and to provoke interesting thought.
Problem is, it was so busy trying to be as pretentious as possible, it forgot to do anything else, like make me like the characters. Or keep my attention. Or make any kind of real sense apart from the little that could be gleaned from thinking about it for hours afterwards. Except I wouldn't have thought about it afterwards. I only thought about it at all because part of my media A levels was analysis of the ****ing thing.

Eternal Sunshine is something else. People either love or hate Charlie Kaufman and how his stories are just mindf_ucks, while others get off on that. I kinda liked Eternal Sunshine. Not his finest work, but definitely one of his better ideas.

The Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada > No Country For Old Men hands down and TLJ is simply brilliant in it. they are both about redemption, death and feature stunning landscapes. In fact you would think it was a Coen brothers movie!

His southern accent wasn't that thick at all. I live in Tennessee so I guess I didn't have such a problem. |
