Over acted Over dramatized Over emotionalized It was like the actors were trying so hard so that they would receive Oscar nominations. At the end I couldn't get out of the pictures quick enough, but the people that I went with could not stop bragging about it. Each to their own I guess. |

I disagree strongly, I'm a huge Burton fan and I think it's the best thing he's ever done after Scissorhands.

The Exorcist: I love a good horror film, but there's a fine line between scary and just plain unpleasant.
Scarface: Well a lot of people hate this movie very much, so you could say it's underrated. But it is a pretty flawed film and dosen't really deserve the kinda classic status it has. Gone With the Wind: Still great, but not on par with a lot of the other classics of the golden era. Shakesphere in Love: Easly the worst film to ever win best picture. The Piano: I have never seen such a movie try to make us care about such loathsome characters. Natural Born Killers: This is where Stone dropped the ball, and easly the most awful film to ever achieve cult status. Serenity: In a lot of ways this was on par with a sci fi original movie, why is it so popular? Milk: A decent film that got way too much hype simply for the political hot topic subject matter. The Dark Knight: Yes it's a fantastic movie, and it IS one of my favorite films from recent times. But it also has some of the worst fanboys ever, it's not THAT much better than Burton's Batman. And I'm just tired of people who can't say anything good about Burton's film while calling this a flawless masterpiece that may easly be the greatest film ever made. I don't care how f*cking good a movie is, THAT'S overrating it. I'm Not There: Am I the only one who thought this was an unbearably pretentious circle jerk? This film seemed to serve no purpose other than for Dylan fans to insult everyone who dosen't "get it" and then high five each other like the useless dipsh*ts they are. Shadows: What a piece of sh*t, this movie has no redeeming values whatsoever. Why is Cassavetes so great? This was the most laughably inept, horribly made film I've ever seen. I don't care if it revolutionized indie filmmaking, that dosen't save it from being a film that utterly fails at both being entertaining and having any real kind of substance. It's just one of those movies hipster scumbags scrutinize you for not "getting it", but don't fall for the trap. It's one of the worst films ever made. Good Burger: I know a few people who liked this movie, that by default makes it overrated. Just about every film Kevin Smith ever made: I can't think of one moment from any of his films that actually made me laugh, not one, and they're made even less enjoyable when knowing how much of a total douche Smith is. By far the most overrated filmmaker of our generation. Last edited by boo boo; 09-20-2009 at 11:36 PM. |

It's a great film, yes. I just hate it when that film is considered untouchable while Burton's Batman films don't really get the credit they deserve IMO.

Batman vs Dark Knight
I love this guy. He makes some really solid points here. I know he pissed off some fanboys in the process. |

You see, the thing is, you made one flaw in your previous argument. The main reason you made for saying that The Dark Knight is overrated is because a lot of its fan base isn't familiar with original Batman and think the two pictures fail in comparison. What if I liked the original Batman, but I still preferred The Dark Knight? Would it be overrated yet still? I disagree with your reason for it being overrated. It's too overly subjective in my book.
