It's entertaining and interesting, it's not full of didactic metaphors or images like you'd expect either. The only annoying thing is there seemed to be this prominent "must impress daddy issue" in Junior's mind and I'm not sure how close that is to reality. Either way you should see it; it's very funny in parts in its own subtle way (like how Bush is always talking with food in his mouth.)

Pineapple Express is one of the funnier movies to come out recently, certainly funnier than Ferrell's recent work, imo, but I think to really get Pineapple Express, you'd have to have some experience as a stoner or being around stoners.

No Country For Old Men never really struck me as anything spectacular; how it beat out There Will Be Blood as best picture in 2007 is beyond me. Then again I've never been a huge fan of the Cohen Brothers either, so there you go.

There Will Be Blood was better I agree, but I'd give both about the same rating.

Between those two movies, There Will Be Blood is the more coherent and best filmed one, IMO.

There Will Be Blood had its faults for sure, it was very inconsistent and moved way too slowly, but the cinematography just blew me away. Both films had rather abrupt and open endings, which I’m not really a fan of. I'll let There Will Be Blood get away with it though after that milkshake scene.

Yes! Beating a priest to death with a bowling pin > Tommy Lee Jones`s face.

And let's be honest, by the end of that film who wouldn't have wanted to beat Paul Dano`s head in?

I too like the Goodfellas. I watch it whenever I can or think to put it in.

I like No Country, but for Best Picture is definitely should've gone to TWBB. I liked it better anyway, I don't see why you think it moved slow though, or at least, it didn't move that slowly. Well, maybe in the beginning it moved pretty slowly. I think it picked up after that though.
