I'm a pretty big fan of Metropolis, The General and Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde (which stars Drew Barrymore's grandfather John Barrymore). If you haven't seen any of those I'd recommend them.

X2 on these recommendations. I saw Metropolis once at the Chinese Theatre in LA with a live band playing the music and it was one of the best moviegoing experiences of my life.

For a surreal silent film experience you should also check out Begotten as well. It was made in the 90s but it's really a unique piece and not really your standard silent film, but it's one of the few horror movies I've seen after 15 years old that actually scared/disturbed me.

That sounds amazing! I once saw a screening of South, the 1919 silent documentary about the Shackleton antarctic expedition, with musical accompaniment by Alloy Orchestra, which was fantastic. Lots of prepared piano and junkyard percussion—I think you would have loved it.

I'd like to see edge of tommorow. Seems like a pretty dry summer blockbuster season, but the new TMNT looks kinda fun though the micheal bay association makes me less enthused than i normally would be.

The original live action tmnt from 1995 or whenever was arguably the peak of my childhood

Edge of tomorrow is a pretty great movie. I haven't seen a lot of movies this year so I can't say where it ranks on movies released this year, but it is pretty damn good. One of my favorite Tom Cruise movies for sure though.

I don't know if you care or not, but it currently has a 95% approval rating on rottentomatoes.

I'm looking forward to TMNT as well.

Guardians Of The Galaxy should be great as all Marvel movies are. I feel that in two or three years X-Men: Age Of Apocalypse could be phenomenal though as my favourite comic movie currently is X-Men: Days Of Future Past

Dawn of the Planet of the Apes is the best summer movie hands down!! It was excellent. It definitly lived up to the hype. Its hard to make sequel movies but they pulled it off. I nearly cried towards the end. Caesar is such an inspiring character. This movie is a bit darker than the first and it covers more deeper messagers that we all can take away from. Overall its a 5/5 for me.

Has this been mentioned? I'm not a huge biopic guy but I'm totally pumped to see this.

Also looking forward to Dear White People
