I take it I'm going to have to see Inception to fully grasp just how great Joseph is. He doesnt seem like a very flexible actor - always playing the nice guy - but I saw him on the David Letterman show the other day and he seemed like a very excited puppy. Dark side and Joseph Gordon-Levitt just dont really fit together.
Its like what you were saying about Heath Ledger. |

He still plays quite a nice character in Inception, but there's definitely a dark side to him. He has the look for the riddler, it would be the role that could push him even further, thus far he's slowly got better and better. I really hope Nolan casts him, the fact he's used him Inception makes it even more likely.

Hmm, I might just go see Inception to see what your talking about, as I currently know nothing about the film apart from theres Leo, Jospeh and Ellen in it and Joseph has a dark side. Apart from his dark side though, is it a good film?
Is Nolan doing the new Batman? Is Christian Bale in it again? It was a bit of an anti-climax in the Dark Knight when Maggie Gyllenhaal died... Just saying lol. |

No, he doesn't have a dark side in it. He plays quite a nice character, nothing dark about him. But I can see something in him, just because he's typecast as quite a nice guy at the moment, that doesn't mean he'll always be typecast. He can break the mould and push himself as an actor, I believe he MUST do that. And I hope he gets the chance with Batman.
Nolan is doing his last instalment of Batman and it will be Bale again yes. The Dark Night was near perfect as a film, and the best superhero film made. Doing a third instalment will be difficult for Nolan. |

I quite like Joseph as the typecast nice guy, he doesnt irritate me like Michael Cera does. If he does do a film where hes a villian, it will definitely be an eye-opener to his acting capabilities though.
I dont personally enjoy superhero movies that much, the latest saw being Kick Ass, which was actually quite cool. But I enjoyed the Dark Knight, so hopefully the next will live up to the previous fims glory. |

Typecast actors are usually quite boring, after him playing Tom from 500DOS for 4 or 5 films, you start to get sick of him. I believe he has some real acting capabilities there, I believe he can reach an emotional height we haven't seen before, but he needs help getting there. Who else could do the riddler? We've got Depp and David Tennant.. I believe Joseph could do a better job than Depp, and Depp is in my top 5 favourite actors. I really think Joseph can pull something off.
Superhero films are hit and miss, so it wouldn't be hard to be the best Superhero film. I guess Batman (1989) was the best before The Dark Night. But The Dark Night just raised the bar. |

Dr Who as the riddler? Blasphemy! I mean, he does have the eyebrows for it but still... its Dr Who.
We'll just have to see. I love Johnny Depp but I dont particularly see him as the riddler. Must be the moe and the blonde hair he had in Blow. He just reminds me of an old stoner. Joseph could probably pull it off, and it would definitely shake away his nice boy image. |

I've been waiting for this one for 2 years now, ever since Joaquin Phoenix' legendary interview with David Letterman. Seems like he quit his acting career to become a rap Artist and stopped all kinds of interviews ever since. Casey Affleck is putting it all in his directorial debut Documentary:
