Got about 100 GB worth of films off my friend, slowly working my way through them. Today I watched American Psycho, very entertaining although I'm still trying to digest it.
Going to watch Amelie and Being John Malkovich later, really excited.

Oh no...no way. Love Johnny Depp, love Helena Bonham-Carter, hell...I thought the cast was a huge draw, in fact that's part of the reason I went to see it. But I really thought they were wasted on this movie. It seems cold and heartless and Depp just came off as more of a creepy freak than anything else. Not witty or quirky like Gene Wilder was as Willy Wonka. So I have to disagree with you there, but to each his own.

Johnny Depp being a creepy freak is what makes it so funny

^ The Departed is one of my favourite ever films, so I can't bloody wait for this one. Plus, from what I've read, it sounds like it's gonna be quite an unsual subject matter for something with have Scorsese's name on it, at least from what I've seen of his work anyway. ^ And I've been hunting for this DVD in the highstreets for months now to no avail, so it looks I'll be resorting to amazon. It's a documentary on, of course, Scott Walker and the recording sessions for the Drift, and I loved it when I saw it a few years ago (and that was long before I was a proper fan of the guy). |

I thought he portrayed it really well, I'm probably one of few that defends the remake. If Alice is better than CATCF I'll be happy |

Well I definitely agree with the last sentence.
@ Bulldog...I'm really looking forward to seeing Shutter Island too! I thought I was alone though, as no one 'round here wants to see it.

Funny though, of all the films I've heard about coming up the first half of this year, Shutter Island's the only one that looks properly exciting to me. |

It looks interesting because, like you mentioned before, it doesn't look like a typical Scorsese film (not from the ones I know anyhow). Plus, I actually really like Leo Dicaprio's acting normally. I'm really looking forward to it and someone will be dragged along whether they like it or not!
