i heard Mezza Streeps' acting in Doubt is ridiculously over-the-top. The trailer seems to confirm this. Just because it's set in a convent school seems to mean it's a weighty significant drama but I find the perpetual Streep-worship a bit much really. Make room for some new faces darling

It can be a bit over-the-top at times but overall it's a still great performance (she's not screaming at Philip Seymour Hoffman the entire movie), definetly not the best of the year though. And I agree that Streep being the godess of acting gets a little annoying.

I'm not gonna lie, my favorite movie of the year is Speed Racer. I usually hate kids movies and obscene amounts of CGI, so I have no business loving it as much as I do. But it took everything to cartoonishly exaggerated extremes that I totally broke down and reverted back to a 7 year old bouncing off the walls on a sugar high. I loved the show when I was younger, so it brought back a lot of nostalgia and stuff.

Curious Case of Benjaman Button and, one that has yet to be mentioned: Austraila. This movie didn't get all the praise it deserved. And I really wanted to see: Doubt, The Dark Knight, Changeling, and MILK really badly.
