Downton Abbey I guess? It's been playing in the background here for a while now and it's dreadful. Is this a documentary about how the the deceased bourgeoisie pass the time in hell? I mean, I love shows like Keeping Up Appearances, but this is just terribly dull.

Anyway, I'm also rewatching Gargoyles from the very beginning (as I've been meaning to for years) since it keeps coming up in both my real-life (the gas station worker complimented my Skeletor shirt and we ended up chatting about Gargoyles + Xena and Gabrielle's brazen lesbianism for half an hour) and online conversations so I feel especially compelled to now.

Trailer Park Boys is a fantastic series.

I forget that about a month ago, I watched the Gilmore Girls: A Year In The Life season again. Why? Because Gilmore Girls.

Okay, I've never seen Downton Abbey, but let me recommend shows I think are better but based in merry old England:

The White Princess - series about the wife of Henry VII, set just after the defeat of Richard III at the War of the Roses

The Adventures of Merlin - silly, fun, and sometimes decent drama. Based on some old wizard whom history has forgotten, can't quite remember the name...

Reign - Totally silly "drama" about Mary, Queen of Scots. Fun though.

Versailles (ok this is obviously based in France) - account of the life of King Louis XIV of France and his dream of building the palace of Versailles. Racy, adventurous, a little gruesome from time to time. You'll love it.

Victoria - Drama following the life of the young English queen.

Dickensian - Drama based on the characters from Dickens's novels

I would've gone down on them no matter their gender.

Watch very little TV, but KERA has been showing these two gems lately.

Got sucked into Downton Abbey on first showing and was actually
very impressed by it. Trying to get thru Victoria, but I really hate
how the camera keeps endlessly ogling Jenna Coleman throughout
the whole thing.

I'd recommend The Hollow Crown if you didn't catch it the
first time around. Cumberbatch is an engaging Richard III.

Been wanting to see Detectorists.

I know that there's lots of very good shows about royals of yore these days (I do want to watch Borgias and also Reign), but I am still bitter over the fact that none of them are about Empress Elisabeth of Austria. Or Ludwig. Why??

It sure was difficult not to, as we all know how romantic and sexy the taquito section of the gas station is.

I absolutely need those tissues. I need all of the Sisi merchandise-- more than words can express.

I also desperately need a show about Lord Byron, (made in the style of What We Do in the Shadows) even though I know Netflix or whoever would find some way to ruin it and break my heart.
