I get what you mean, but do you have some examples? I can think of a few but I don't know how far you are.

Dunno, mostly stuff involving his wife, also her sister and her husband. I get that probably most of it did or will end up being somehow important to the main plot but it often feels kinda half-assed.

I think that a lot of that is to illustrate just how dull his regular life is and why he'd jump to those decisions. I do think that Marie is a lazily underdeveloped character though.

FG and AD both had their moments, but the emphasis is very firmly on the "had" in that sentence. They should quit now, not while they're ahead (cos they're not), not before they embarrass themselves (cos that ship has sailed a long time ago) but just out of pure respect for their ex-viewership.

Homer would never go through with it. Come to think of it, Stan would probably trick the other two into carrying it out and then have blanks in his gun or a special rope that breaks at the crucial moment or something. But yeah, I agree. Can't really think of a "mature animated show" that still stands up today. How's South Park these days? Watched some old episodes yesterday, reminded me how great it can be. Something about porn channels and Minecraft?

South Park seems to have gotten better over the past few years, but that is based on very irregular watching. Not seen any of the latest series though.

It's short. It's like 26 episodes. That said, eh. I don't feel like I gained anything from watching it. |

To be honest, I hated Walt. I quit watching the series for about 2 years because I hated Walt so much. One day I realized that I was spending my free time making myself angry, and I quit. I only finished it because I realized at some point that I'd bailed at the end of the series and only had ~10 episodes to go, so I figured I might as well finish it.
