There was some pretty good character development from what I can remember, which isn't much because before I looked it up I was calling Dinobot Velociraptor-tron. Looking back on the show they writers did a good job at creating reasons for certain characters to change forms in order to get parents to buy the new toys their shithead cumsprouts like myself.
