Watching Home Movies and Spaced on Netflix right now. I love Home Movies, the show is brilliant and the humor is fast and furious. The kids in the show are so age-inappropriate, but somehow vaguely realistic at the same time. It's fairly short, too, which makes it easy for us who like to watch a show until it's finished.

I just started watching Spaced yesterday while I was lounging in a sick daze. Seems pretty funny so far, but it's not nearly as fast as I want it to be. I love slow paced movies that take time to build up everything. A thirty-minute sitcom, however, should be fast paced and witty, not plodding along. Anyway, I'll stick it out. I hear nothing but good things about the show, there has to be something there.

And soon I'll be watching the first season of Hell On Wheels, since that too is on Netflix instant play. Looks promising.

Stick with Spaced Blaro; it's pure gold. If you're any sort of a geek the references in it will just make you laugh and nod so much your head will be in danger of falling off. It's just the two series but each episode is brilliant. Wish there were more.

Looking forward to "Hell on wheels" myself, due to start over here "for the new season", whatever that means....

/agreed Most definitely! Then there's the even shorter lived "Hippies" Simon Pegg did for one season. Then there's "Black Books" with Dylan Moran and Bill Bailey.

Ah man! Forgot about BB! Did you see the one where Bernard gets locked out of the shop, and has to get a temporary job (like, till the rain stops) in a chip shop? "Chips please" "How many?" "What?" "How many chips do you want?" "Uh, I don't know... twenty?" "There you go. Has the rain stopped?" "What?" "Has the rain stopped?" "Uh, yeah.." "Great! I'm off! I quit!"

Can't find that one, but here's a great one where Manny "finds out he can play piano!" His face is just priceless: this guy is a comedy god!

Absolutely! That's when I knew I was watchin the right show! I can relate a lot to Bernard.... which isn't an inherently good thing...

That episode was brilliant. American television doesn't really have anything on that.

Very true. But then, America doesn't have anyone like Bill Bailey! The man is both a comedy god and a fierce musician! What a combination!

And of course theres the one where they decide to turn the book shop into a cafe and restaurant as well.

"Take this to table 12."

"But...there are no plates."

"Well...use...recipe books with pictures of plates on the front! Do I have to explain everything?!

Yeah that was brilliant! Or the one where Bernard has to do his taxes (I think it's the pilot ep) and he goes to his accountant with all sticky notes on his coat "This is my new system". "Yeah. Bernard, the new system is just the old system, isn't it?" Then the accountant hears sirens, legs it out onto the fire escape, the cops come in looking for him: hilarious!

"Black Books" and "Spaced" are two of the best recent British comedies. And I'm starting to get into "The IT Crowd" now too...

Edit: OH OH OH! I forgot the one where they're in charge of some guy's wine cellar, and he tells them they can drink anything from THAT side, but the really expensive, important stuff is over there. And of course, they get confused and drink all the good stuff! And there's something about Bernard going to the toilet somewhere he really wasn't supposed to? Bit vague, can't remember. Bedroom maybe?

@The Batlord: wow, over here we all have Sky Plus (or Virgin Plus): hardly anyone watches anything live these days. Thought you guys would be well ahead of the curve over there!

(What is this? The Dark Ages?)
