So The Daily Show went from news, opinion, and humour to news and opinions stated as if they were funny.

debaserr 01-22-2016 03:38 PM

I'm not really sure why they chose to continue the show with a new host.

I haven't watched since Jon left. This news isn't particularly surprising.

Goofle 01-22-2016 03:40 PM

Maybe you've simply grown up a bit, and don't have such a broad left-wing view any more? That's what I have found happening with myself in regards to that show.

Chula Vista 01-22-2016 03:44 PM

Trevor Noah is hilarious though.

Trevor Noah - That's the Whole Point of Apartheid, Jerry - Episode - Comedians In Cars Getting Coffee by Jerry Seinfeld

Frownland 01-22-2016 04:15 PM

^Case in point. I guess I can call him a sellout, too.

Possibly, but the fact that Jon Stewart was actually funny is more likely.

Trollheart 01-22-2016 04:52 PM

Did someone say a new series of The X-Files ??? :tramp:

Cuthbert 01-26-2016 12:07 PM

There is a new series of Dual Survival @Vowels

There are two new survival experts on it. Matt and Joe have gone, only 4 programs in the last series so maybe something went on and they left.

I got the first two programs from the new series, watching now.

JGuy Grungeman 01-26-2016 09:27 PM

OK, not that I was looking for any, but I was wondering what shows (besides Death Note) are considered "emo." So I see someone ask for emo shows, and one of the first answers was "Ouran High School Host Club." No.

Why is Death Note considered emo?
(It's one of the very few anime I've actually seen, so I'm curious, since I wouldn't really call it that.)

JGuy Grungeman 01-27-2016 08:45 AM

... dark topics, deep emotional content, constant death, creepy music, but not quite horror. Ever see the whole thing?

You teenagers seem to be using "emo" very differently than I would.
I've seen the whole series, but not the movies.
While I loved roughly the first half of the episodes, I thought the others were much, much weaker. Are the movies comparable in strength to the earlier episodes?

Black Francis 01-27-2016 09:07 AM

L looks pretty emo but i didn't get an emo vibe from the series.. then again i didn't watch the whole series. Grungeman i would recommend Evangelion if you haven't seen it already but if you have i recommend the abridged evangelion series cause they really made Shinji into an emo kid in that one.

The Batlord 01-27-2016 10:02 AM

Yeah, cause he wasn't an emo kid before. Awesome series, though. I just wish I wasn't way too old to be perving on Asuka. But there's still Misato and Ritsuko.

You're not, the way i see it is Asuka is fair game cause she's a frickin cartoon. True, he was emo enough already but in that abridged version they took it a step farther and made him a Linkin park fan and that's just.. priceless.

Lol, I've only seen the first three I think, but I don't remember that. And I'd say it's still creepy to perv on Asuka. Not only is she fourteen, but she actually looks like a fourteen-year-old. Besides, she's an emotionally unstable, bipolar damage-case with a serious case of daddy issues. That's just all kinds o' rapey.

Yea, she'd be the perfect woman if she wasn't fourteen..

Besides, it's not worse than making a clone of your dead wife your daughter like commander Ikari. Evangelion sends alot of f*cked up sexual messages so you can bet they purposely made Asuka a hot fiery redhead just so you can have those thoughts about her. If anything you're the victim here.

I've seen the first episode of Evangelion before. I plan to get through it.

Anyone watching Texas Rising? It's really good, but I have to wonder if the people behind Game of Thrones did the opening credits?

The only thing worse would be the son touching the clone of his dead mother's boob. Oh wait... yeah that show is ****ed.

THe first episode is awesome, but the full scope of the show's insanity only reveals itself in time. That is quite possibly the most soul-destroying show I've ever seen. Keep your medication handy.

I liked some of Bill Burr's stuff before, but this really makes him great in my eyes. Even the pilot is brilliant (which is rare as hell).

Kino 01-28-2016 08:32 PM

Arrow, The Flash, Legends of Tomorrow, and Jessica Jones

Ilistentoeverything 01-28-2016 09:52 PM

Anyone seen Serial Experiments Lain?

I didn't know Bill Burr did TV Shows? I love his stand up so I'll definitely be checking this out.

As a Psychological series, I personally think SEL is better than Evangelion. I recommend it. It's a slow series, though. :)

The Batlord 01-29-2016 08:49 PM

It's definitely a good show, but not one to watch if you want to see immersive drama. It's just a head**** series. Not that there's anything wrong with that, but just so you know.

Beatbyheart 01-30-2016 05:03 AM

I watch marvel agents of shield at the moment it's good but could be better .

TheLhix 01-30-2016 12:27 PM

Jessica Jones, House of Cards, Black Books, Empire.

Snowless 02-01-2016 09:28 AM

Dead Like Me is great.

Mr. Charlie 02-01-2016 12:05 PM

Horizon: What Is Reality?

There is a strange and mysterious world that surrounds us, a world largely hidden from our senses. The quest to explain the true nature of reality is one of the great scientific detective stories.

Clues have been pieced together from deep within the atom, from the event horizon of black holes, and from the far reaches of the cosmos. It may be that that we are part of a cosmic hologram, projected from the edge of the universe. Or that we exist in an infinity of parallel worlds. Your reality may never look quite the same again.

BBC iPlayer - Horizon - 2010-2011: 9. What Is Reality?

Not as good as previous Horizons, but still pretty good.

Snowless 02-01-2016 01:30 PM

Lie to me is great too (:

I've only seen the first episode, but I would still recommend it since I love the psychological aspects.

I've been watching Arrow. Why are DC tv shows so much better than Marvel TV shows, yet Marvel movies are better than DC movies?

I've also been slowly getting into the A-Team.

Snowless 02-04-2016 10:38 AM

The King Of Queens

Watching Snuff Box again. Because it's f*cking Snuff Box. The darkest 'sketch show' of all ever.

I like Merlin.. :pssst:
