It's been a couple months, so I may have forgotten, but wasn't the syringe filled with air? Isn't injecting air into your bloodstream fatal?

It would have had to have been filled with saline. Air would have killed him.

Spoiler for Dexter Season 7:
All-right. This is more like it. 4 episodes in and they couldn't be handling the Dex / Deb (my brother's a serial killer) relationship any better. And the rest of the story lines are nice and tight - and believable.

Dex: See that smoke? That's Speltzer.............. how do you feel?
Deb: Glad.......... what does that make me?
Dex: ........human.

Huge fan of Ray Stevenson and glad to have him on board playing the type of character he does best. If you haven't seen it, check out the movie "Kill the Irishman". He's almost a one man show in it.

Spoiler for Argentina:
What a great episode. The two outstanding scenes were Deb completely breaking down and accidentally admitting to Dex that she's in love with him. Funny how early on I was questioning Carpenter's acting chops and now she continuously blows me away. She was Emmy worthy in that scene.

And then the scene with Isaac and Dex at the gay bar where Isaak let's out that he and Victor were lovers. The dialogue and acting in that scene was freaking great. There's a million ways that could have come across awkward and/or clumsy but they nailed it. You actual find yourself feeling bad for Isaac.

The ending montage with Dexter's voice over was killer too. LaGuerta standing next to Dex's boat, Quinn standing watch while they load the heroin, Isaac in his room listening to Victor's last phone message over and over again, Deb sharing a joint with Astor. Just great stuff.

Dude, where did the walking dead thread go.... I know I'm all squinty eyed right now but... I want to talk Walking Dead.

First you're black, then you're Mexican, and now you're Chinese? Why don't you pick one already?

Spoiler for Season 7 Finale:
Whoa. Did Deb really just shoot and kill LaGuerta? This is easily in my top 3 seasons.

Wpnfire 03-31-2015 09:20 AM

I'm not sure how MB feels about cartoons, but I started watching Scooby Doo Where Are You, because I randomly started thinking about it yesterday. Even though it only had like 30 episodes made, I would still call it one of Hanna-Barbera's best creations.

Also holy **** it was made in 1969?? I thought it was an 80s thing. I guess that explains the psychedelic typeface of the show title.

Chula Vista 04-02-2015 09:52 AM

Spoiler for Dexter Season 8:
Six episodes in so far and really digging this season. Love the Vogal story line and how she helped Deb and Dex mend the fences - again, tremendous acting by Carpenter so far this season. And it looks like Hannah's back!

Mountain Men

I'm enjoying this show. Just started watching it a few days ago, and it's great to watch when I get home from work. I'm not a huge fan of the narrator, I find his voice a little annoying, but everything else about the show is pretty good.

Spoiler for iwubrw:
I remember season 8 starting out good, like an extension of season 7, but at some point it goes downhill. I'm not the type to get caught up in details of a show if I'm watching a series as a whole as opposed to catching it as it airs, so a lot of the things that people rail about I either didn't notice, or just didn't worry about as much, but there was a definite nose dive in the focus of the season at some point.

We'll have to talk about the finale though.

Chula Vista 04-03-2015 08:48 AM

^^^^^

Spoiler for Nosedive:
Ya, it's started in episode 7 and has carried over through 8 and 9. Still enough meat on the bone to make em watchable though. I'll wrap up the show tonight most likely.

The Knick

Only half way through the first episode, but I can tell this is going to be awesome. Clive Owen is that dude, and the cinematography is beautiful. One of the most aesthetically pleasing TV shows I have seen, and it doesn't seem to be all about the style.

Not ready to comment on the story telling and characters just yet though.

debaserr 04-03-2015 08:14 PM

I was hesitant to watch that at first, because I don't like viewing surgery, but that show ended up being awesome.

I really like the electronic soundtrack to it, it really sets the mood.

Goofle 04-03-2015 08:40 PM

The first episode was really good. And I'm anything but shocked to see that Steven Soderbergh directed the first episode. Not sure if he does the rest.

Onto Penny Dreadful episode 1 now before bed. The two stood out when I was looking for new shows to start so hopefully this is just as good.

Me and Bat deserve some kind of trophy for "spoiling" the ending.

Lin is wondering why I'm crying my eyes out in the middle of the day.

Ahhh jeez.

Goofle 04-04-2015 02:14 PM

I really didn't find it to be emotional at all as I said to Batlord when he talked about it.

Frownland 04-04-2015 02:25 PM

Catching up on Better Call Saul and saw the garbage scene. ****ing brilliant, highlight of the phenomenal series thus far.

BloodFoxTK 04-04-2015 05:21 PM

watching a couple of things at the moment (box arts spoilered due to image size.)

Spoiler for Black Sails Season 1:

and
Spoiler for The Following Season 1:

Goofle 04-04-2015 05:58 PM

I've heard great things about Black Sails. Will be on my watch list.

ladyislingering 04-04-2015 06:18 PM

I'm almost finished with season 5 of 3rd Rock From the Sun.

I remember the series being on TV when I was younger but never realized how funny it is.

Overcast 04-04-2015 06:53 PM

Currently watching the new season of Trailer Park Boys. Feels kind of lackluster so far, not sure why. Also watched The Walking Dead finale which was absolutely fantastic in my opinion. So excited that they're getting to the real storyline from the bulk of the comics where there's so much that can happen.

Spoiler for ending:
And seeing Morgan and Rick meet eachother again like that was such a mixed bag of feelings. One of my favorite moments ever, and I'm so happy they're seemingly making Morgan a main character. THEY BETTER NOT KILL HIM, GOD DANGIT. SHOW MORGAN IS TOO GOOD AND WAY BETTER THAN COMIC MORGAN. That is all.

Spoiler for iushdfnv:
Told you. I don't cry for much, and when I do it's usually just a little mist in the eye. I haven't really cried in years, but that finale had me outright bawling. If I had been watching it with anyone else I would have had to kill myself from Irish Catholic shame. I'm pretty sure I watched the last ten or so minutes at least three times, weeping like a new widow each time.

Try Weeds. No particular reason why, but if we click that hard on Dexter then perhaps my other current favorite show will do the trick. Great characters, great drama, but it's also funny enough to wash the taste of sadness out of your mouth.

Frownland 04-04-2015 09:31 PM

Watch Peep Show on the side because that's the funniest **** ever

Excited for Mad Men returning tonight. Gonna miss all the sixties flair but ready for some juicy character story arcs.

Goofle 04-05-2015 09:14 AM

Rick and Morty is fucking fantabulous. Dan Harmon is my hero.

debaserr 04-05-2015 09:21 AM

^Yes, yes, yes. My favorite "New" show since like...Mad Men or Breaking Bad... Pretty sure in the end I'm going to prefer it over Community.

Frownland 04-05-2015 08:15 PM

Dear writers of The Wire,

I know it's too late now, but please stop breaking my heart with the Bubs subplot.

Thanks,

Dexter withdrawal big time. I really need to hear Deb say f*ck right about now.

Goddamnit.

So, the 9th season of Trailer Park Boys was put on Netflix a little while ago. And it is fantastic. I didn't much like the 8th season for some reason, but this one is hilarious.
