About to watch the very last episode of Dexter and I'm totally bummed. I'm gonna jump into the books as soon as I finish cause I just can't deal with the separation. I already read the first book a while back *KINDA SPOILER* and I know there's some big differences between the two series, so I'm kinda stoked.

The Batlord 02-14-2015 05:55 PM

Just finished the Dexter series finale...

Spoiler for Mega Spoilers!:
Jesus ****ing Christ. Very rarely does anything, be it show, movie, music, whatever, bring much out in my emotionally. In fact there are only two things that can regularly get me even the slightest bit misty-eyed: Hammerfall (shut up) and the murder of Bruce Wayne's parents (shut up). But I literally can't remember the last time anything ever made me cry like a little bitch. I mean, borderline bawling. For pretty much the last half of the episode I was a wreck. I was getting a bit teary when I first found out Deb was brain dead, but I think it was right at the exact moment when Quinn lost it in the interrogation room with Saxon that the floodgates really opened. After that I was done.

I also never go back and rewatch an episode I've just watched, but I just kept going back and watching certain scenes, sometimes out of sequence. I watched the last ten minutes--from the point where Dexter arrives at the hospital in the boat to when he drives into the storm--three times, and I fell apart each time.

I've also never been more satisfied with the death of a villain. Even if he wasn't the best villain of the series, Saxon needed to die. The way Dexter killed him was Batman as ****.

Chula Vista 02-14-2015 06:04 PM

Nice!

Dexter and Rita finally getting naked and sweaty was awesome. What a great scene. The actors nailed all of the pent up emotions getting released.

And we finally know who the ice truck killer is. Can't wait for tonight.

Just caught up on The 100 and this show is looking great and severely underrated. Confirmed renewed for season 3 and getting consistently deserved great ratings. Gives me Lost vibes but it's different in a lot of interesting and equally mysterious ways. Desmond from Lost is in it himself, actually.

Really looking forward to the next episode and they're surprisingly not shy about killing off major characters.

I felt emotion the first time I watched the episode, but overall a very disappointing finale for me. I like to imagine that season 8 doesn't exist.

Spoiler for ieurb:
I'll have to watch the series again to really get a better opinion of it, but I loved the last two seasons. Watching Dexter and Deb dealing with her finding out was some of the best stuff of the show.

And any finale that forces me to hold a tissue up to my face cause at any moment I might start sobbing is a good finale IMO.

Goofle 02-15-2015 08:02 AM

I honestly cannot believe how emotionally invested you got with Dexter in general. I didn't feel much of anything at any point.

Neither can I. I just really, really liked the show. The crying thing was completely out of nowhere.

That's why I could never really get into it. I saw the entire first season and it was great, but I tried to watch the show again and I just couldn't get into it.

Goofle 02-15-2015 10:36 AM

Don't get me wrong, I liked the show. But it definitely didn't move me emotionally.

Key 02-15-2015 10:37 AM

I was moved more by Prison Break and Breaking Bad than I would be by Dexter. I don't think Dexter has the typical atmosphere that I like in a tv show. I'm more for the dark suspenseful depressing stories.

Chula Vista 02-15-2015 10:39 AM

I'm only 6-7 episodes in and I'm already fully invested emotionally. Heck, even Angel's situation has gotten me misty.

Like I said, I don't know what the **** happened. For seven seasons and eleven episodes, I was perfectly fine.
Spoiler for Spoiler!:
Rita's death? No problem.
Then completely out of the blue I'm literally bawling at a level usually reserved for the death of a pet. In fact, I've cried less over pets than I have that episode.

It really was some pussyass ****. Had I been watching it with friends, I'm sure I would have ruined the entire experience for them.

You are now officially less than a man than I thought you were. Your dick better be big or you're useless to me.

I'm a faggot, aren't I? I always suspected as much, but now the terrible truth is all too obvious.

I felt more connected to Dexter than Walt. Walt kind of pissed me off at times. I barely remember Michael but he was pretty cool too.

Lost personally has some of the saddest deaths for me.

James 02-15-2015 01:18 PM

Six Feet Under is the ultimate sad show.

For me it's a tie between Six Feet Under, Breaking Bad and Mad Men.

Six Feet Under is so cynical, whereas the other two depict a realistic sadness.

Chula Vista 02-18-2015 08:44 AM

Dammit! Watched 3 episodes of Dexter last night and ended up right with Dexter figuring out who the Ice Truck Killer is and the killer having Deb bound and unconscious on the boat. And there was no way I could stay up and watch any more without feeling like crap this morning.

Can't freaking wait until tonight.

Spoiler tags, dude. Or else I'd have ruined the show for you several pages back.

I've already read up on what happens. Don't mind spoilers. I just like watching the actors play it out.

My point is that you should put spoilers in spoiler tags.

Chula Vista 02-18-2015 09:15 AM

Got it. Although I didn't really give anything away.

Spoiler for Spoiler:
Rudy looked so familar and I finally figured out why. He was in one of my fave Sci-Fi flicks of the past few years - Europa Report.

Frownland 02-22-2015 11:39 AM

Burned myself out a bit on The Sopranos (the pacing doesn't change much in the third and fourth season) so I'm taking a break and starting The Wire, which I'm hooked on. Question: do all the black actors from The Walking Dead show up on The Wire?

Overcast 02-24-2015 09:17 AM

Halfway through The Strain. This show is really starting to piss me off. Almost every character is so stupid that it's unbearable.

Started on The Leftovers and it seems pretty interesting so far. It has a superb soundtrack. Better Call Saul is still great too.

Key 03-02-2015 11:00 PM

So i'm nearing the 4th and final season of My Name is Earl. I'm not going to lie, I will miss watching this show. I have honestly been enjoying watching it a lot, and have really been enjoying the simple humor throughout the show. Definitely one of the most underrated shows of it's kind.

Chula Vista 03-03-2015 11:43 AM

Ya, that show was a lot of fun.

Watched the first episode of season 3 of House of Cards last night. Show's picking up right where it left off which is a very good thing.

Goofle 03-03-2015 11:53 AM

^ I'm up to episode 9. Amazing show.

FRED HALE SR. 03-03-2015 11:54 AM

The Bridge- Basically the story of a serial killer along the border of Juarez Mexico and El Paso Texas. Pretty good so far. I'd recommend it for anyone into serial killer stories. Takes a few episodes in to get hooked. The star/female is the most awkward person in recent tv history.

The COMMUNITY Season 6 Trailer Is Here | Badass Digest

So I missed all of season 5, but I'm contemplating going back and watching it so I know what the hell is going on for season 6. Regardless I'll watch it just for Keith David.

Overcast 03-03-2015 08:54 PM

Watching Impractical Jokers seasons 1-3 right now.

Spoiler for House of Cards:
Season 3 Episode 3: State dinner with the Russian president including Pussy Riot. Whoa. What an episode. Loved how Frank finally gave up and brushed the dude off and gave public props to PR instead. The video over the closing credits was great! Brilliant writing on this show.

Goofle 03-05-2015 05:25 PM

Spoiler for House of Cards:
Can anyone explain to me why the newest season had such an atrocious ending? They split up... big whoop. It would have been a bigger surprise had they stayed together. Sure, it was a great series, and I loved the last two episodes... but damn, I think that was a completely underwhelming finale.

RoxyRollah 03-08-2015 05:05 PM

Im digging the fiznuck outta Better Call Saul.Which I thought was gonna be garbage .Damn you AMC.

Frownland 03-08-2015 05:09 PM

The last episode with Chuck was so hilarious and sad.
