Screaming trees indeed! You would never - ever - want to go to war after seeing that.
Just started The Pacific now. It's never going to be as good as Band of Brothers I would imagine, but let's give it a chance. The wounded Jap blowing himself up and taking the doc and another guy with him... wow. They had no idea what they were facing, did they?

Yeah finished The Pacific tonight and would agree with adidasss that it's not as good as Band of Brothers. Something about the kind of soap-opera parts forced on us - did any of us really care what happened back home? Fighting was beyond brutal though, and some very graphic scenes. I think the way it ended was a bit of a damp squib really.

For Band of brothers, Breaking point was my favourite episode. For Pacific, it's when Sledge is getting worn down, jaded by the war. I can't remember the episode's name. I read two of the books that formed the basis for each series (Helmet for my pillow, Band of brothers). They're both excellent reads. |

I love when Sledge goes to the college admissions or whatever it is after the war and the girl snippily asks him "Didn't the Marines teach you anything useful?" and he leans down and growls "They taught me to kill Japs. And I'm pretty damn good at it!"

I remember that line very well. He was very good at it!
The casting was well done in both series. I still find it weird seeing Friendo Ross as an army captain though. I would imagine the series helped others find prominent work elsewhere. Rami Malek comes to mind. |

Yeah, I love Damian Lewis in everything he does, and he did not disappoint here either. Is there anything that man can't do?

Just finished the latest season of Stranger Things. What a great show. I thought it was about to go to **** with the last season but they really redeemed themselves with this one. The worst part of all of this is I'll probably have to wait another year or two for the finale.

He played now deceased Toronto mayor Rob Ford in this movie - https://www.imdb.com/title/tt7596680/. You'd never recognize him in there. |

Life was where I saw him first, then in Homeland, then of course Billions and now Band of Brothers. I know they're not chronologically in order, but that's the order I saw him act in.
