American Horror Story
I'm about 3/4 of the way through the first season of this. I'm enjoying it though not really blown away so far, but still withholding judgement until the end of the season.

Rick and Morty is the best new show on TV.

<3 Dan Harmon

Hilarious, no more physical limitations, he can just do whatever and get away with it.

Pretty decent little show with some great acting from Mathew Mcconaughey, who has so far had no shirtless scenes, which I'm pretty sure is a breach of contract for him. I'm kind of loath to say it, but it pretty much feels like a straight faced version of Twin Peaks as directed by someone who did nothing but watch Se7en for a straight year. It's definitely a compelling story and worth your time, but don't let the title make you think you're going to get a worthy successor to something like The Wire. While their jargon is pretty spot on, you are going to get pretty much all the standard detective tv show tropes... but with HBO quality writing.

I absolutely loved the first season. So much, I bought it on blu ray. I never buy television series on dvd/blu ray

I love this show. Love how Rick is constantly fighting back bile.

Love this show. So dark.

I like how the writing really makes it feel like you can watch it from any episode and piece together the plot yourself. I accidentally watched the newest episode first because I'm not really use to HBO GO and while I was a little confused by the pacing and structure, I was pretty much able to figure out what was going on. It's funny, after finishing that episode my thoughts were "huh... well that's a pretty avant garde approach to the mystery narrative", I did feel pretty stupid when I realized my mistake though.

I have to admit I ended up being pretty disappointed by the first season honestly. But I've just started the second season since I've heard that one's better.

Who did you hear it is better from? Most people say Season 1 is better. Very rarely do people say Season 2 is better.

My coworker who got me interested in the show, my sister-in-law and comments I've seen online. If it's possible this season is even worse than the first one, I'll make sure to set my expectations very low.

Just don't watch Coven. That was a piece of garbage.

Or watch Coven and decide for yourself.

If you are interested in witch and voodoo lore then watch it.

2nd season is actually pretty good. I like the setting better than season 1. The haunted house thing never did much for me. The execution is a bit of a disappointment though. The problem with the show is they include so many different things going on at the same time that the story gets a bit sloppy, and unnecessary. They should really make it a bit more simplistic. Season 2 seemed more realistic than its predecessor, then they include some weird supernatural stuff that doesn't make sense or do anything for the plot.

Goofle 02-09-2014 12:58 PM

The new series of 'Archer' is phenomenal.

House of Cards season 2.

Episode one has a tasty twist...

I might start that up soon.

My roommate already blew through it.

Coven was a craptastic season of television.

It was such a great guilty pleasure for me to watch though. Plus witches. nuff said.

The only reason I watched it is for Jessica Lange's performance even though she plays the same old smoky, vampy character.

Psychedub Dude 02-15-2014 11:01 AM

I've been watching Happy Endings. Really funny show damn shame it got cancelled tho

Also caught a few episodes of Broad City and it's good. Hannibal Burress is hilarious even in his short appearances.

I loved that show for one season, and then it came back for a new season and I realized that I hated all of the characters. They're just unlikable twats who do nothing but say douchey things about each other and everybody else in a self-consciously snarky way that comes off as fake. It's kind of like what Friends would have been if all the characters were assholes.

I think it's great. Each character has their own craziness. Yeah they rag on each other a lot but the cast has a great chemistry. I guess we'll agree to disagree :3

I get that. I thought the same thing at first. Not saying you'll come to the same conclusion as me, but it was startling just what a one-eighty my opinion on that show that took. I honestly loved it at first. Still wanna bone all three of the chicks on that show though. The blonde with the black dude has a sexy pre-milf thing going on, the other blonde is adorable, and Penny is nice and thick just how I like 'em.

Yeah I'm almost done with the series so my opinion has stayed strong through out, I can see why you would get put off by it though. The dialogue is the best part for me it feels very natural.

And oh yes the ladies are sexy. Alex is so dumb you can't help but love her haha

I would say give it another chance the show hits a really good rhythm in the second season.

Moss 02-15-2014 05:33 PM

House of cards season 2. Episode 1 was crazy

Psychedub Dude 02-26-2014 08:50 AM

Finally got around to finishing Dexter, and it started to get good half way through the season but they really threw a nasty curveball with that ending. Really really lame way to end it

Also been watching How I met your mother :thumb:

Where's the thumbs down emoticon? And why do I keep dumping on your taste in sitcoms? Don't know.

I have to agree with your sentiment.

HIMYM is pretty awful. The only redeeming quality about it is Neil Patrick Harris. Why do they think a spin-off will work without him is beyond me.

I guess I have a low standard for sitcoms haha I dunno but I find it funny

How I Met Your Mother seasons 1-4 are GOAT contenders.

The one where Marshall gets mugged by a monkey is great haha

debaserr 02-26-2014 10:16 PM

I love the characters on HIMYM, but that show is quite mediocre.

I'd rather have Seinfeld, Community, Eastbound & Down and Curb Your Enthusiasm any day.

I agree that the show isn't extraordinary or anything but it's good enough for a few laughs.

Speaking of Curb is that getting another season?

debaserr 02-27-2014 04:24 PM

I'm with you, it's one of the few shows on that I still look forward to.

Probably, but Larry David just made Clear History, so it's on a bit of a hold.

Currently watching Hannibal & Dexter, GENIUS! ^_^

Watching Peep Show for the 23rd time again.

Not up to this episode, but it's one of my favourite scenes (can't find full clip)

Paedantic Basterd 03-05-2014 09:22 PM

The most recent season of How I Met Your Mother is a struggle to follow.

I don't watch it because it's rib-splittingly funny, I watch it because I think the characters are adorable geeks and I want to shrink them all down to 3-inches and keep them around in my pockets.

EDIT: I don't even care. Reverse self-justification.

I don't think I've made it that far in the series yet, but this is probably my favorite scene in what I have watched:
