Let me also recommend, if you've not seen them, Dark Matter and Killjoys. Both (not that it's important but I guess it helps, and as we're talking about it anyway) with pretty stunning leads. Great stories, powerful premises, completely different to most of the sci-fi on telly up to now. Oh, and Colony is really good too.
Killjoys Dark Matter

Dark matter was pretty good, to me felt like a worthy successor to the whole stargate franchise - it mixed serious and interesting issues with cheesiness in just the right proportions, imo.
But they cancelled it, despite the show having the sexiest androids in tv history And yes, I mean plural - Ruby Rose as the sex robot left me drooling. Which probably says more about me, than about how hot she is (very). As for Killjoys - I've yet to see it, in fact I'm surprised there's a sf series i have not even heard of Will investigate! |

Wendy was only in a single episode, but.. she left an impression Colony - no. Mr Josh Holloway has a very punchable face, somehow he drove me away I know it's not a legit reason, especially since Peaky Blinders convinced me Cillian Murphy is amazing, and not a weird looking freak and possibly a deviant (well, the possibility is still there, I guess :P). Truth is - I'd need a clone to work for me if I were to watch every single thing that is worth watching .. I might get to it, eventually. Anyway, the Expanse season 3 is supposed to be here today! Too bad netflix will only show it after the season is done, I guess I'll have to stea.. I mean, look for alternative sources |

Did you watch the "new" Star Trek? Can't recall: Star Trek Explorer or something? I wasn't impressed, I have to say. They probably should just leave it now. Also, I'm assuming you've seen the incredible 12 Monkeys?

Watched the first episode of Altered Carbon last night and it seems pretty interesting. It looks to have a well fleshed out universe, which adds depth to the story. One of the reasons why Black Panther kinda meh'd hard was the lack of detail given to Wakanda, and how detached I was as a viewer to the "on the ground" life.
I know it's hard to fit that in a movie, but it is what it is. This show hopefully won't suffer from that same issue.

I liked it also because it triggered a ton of haters, that somehow "have always been fans of Star Trek" but now "can't stand all this homopropaganda" .. I'm no expert, but I know enough about ST to know it has always been on the cutting edge of social change, shocking people with things like the 1st interracial on screen kiss. And the federation is a communist utopia anyway :P It had some great visuals as well. I was honestly surprised it was this fun to watch, especially after the Expanse - I was expecting a cheesy sjw piece of crap that only really uses the Star Wars setting to sell ideological talking points. I'm glad it was more balanced and less stupid than I anticipated, and since I experience schadenfreude where people with extreme views rage, it turned out to be a better source of fun than I thought. And to be honest, i forgot about 12 monkeys. I watched the movie almost religiously, I think I saw it over 20 times, at least 15 of those times on a VHS And when I heard about the tv series, I was sure that even if they really tried, they couldn't even approach Gilliams level. Was I wrong ? |

I didn't see the 12 Monkeys movie, but I loved the series. Very dark, quite confusing until certain pasts/futures catch up with each other, and very well written, I found. Definitely worth a watch.
