Finally finished Broadchurch after a long wait for the final season to appear on Netflix.

Easily the best police procedural I've seen. Incredible writing, acting, and direction across the whole series. Third season wasn't as emotionally impactful as the two before it, but the story was solid. I'm sad to see it go, but I'm a big believer in things ending while they're still good.

Then I turned around and tried to watch Riverdale with my roommate and there were teenagers eating hamburgers in a crime scene literally less than 12 hours after someone was shot there and I almost threw my computer away, I was so annoyed by the complete lack of attention to reality.

Season 1 was flawless. I've rewatched it so many times.

Do you think so? I loved it, but the reason given
Spoiler for in case anyone has not yet seen it:
(the kid being molested)
seemed awkward and badly-done to me. Like, it was not at all believable, not the way they portrayed it. That always left a bad taste in my mouth. Damn, that sounded wrong, didn't it?

Spoiler for broadchurch feelings:
Hmm, you think so? I thought it was fairly believable since it was implied that their meetings had been going on for a long time, so, he had plenty of time to groom Danny into accepting all of it (and it showed via flashbacks that sitting on his lap/kissing? was the extent of their physical relationship I think? Unless I'm not remembering correctly) -- and he did seem like an extremely manipulative person-- the killer, I mean. Forgot his name. However I'm not sure if it was really even necessary to add the whole molestation element, seeing as the killer's personality issues/intensity coupled with their inappropriate friendship would have been quite enough to lead to the kid's death, I figure. I don't know! Maybe if the flashbacks went farther back into their history it would have felt a little more believable/natural.

Yeah, I don't know: it just rang hollow for me. It didn't seem like something that would happen. Maybe it's just me, but the "explanation" ruined it for me. I had been enjoying it immensely up to then. Tennant is such a star.

Into the Badlands

This is completely up my alley.

Story = great
Acting = great
Characters = great
Pacing = great
World Setting = great
Fight Scenes = godlike

Easily the best thing I've seen in a while.

The badassary is turned up to 11 on this thing.

Is that what it looks like?! Is that a kung fu action show with asskicking?

Channel Zero - Candle Cove

Season one of a horror anthology in the vein of American Horror Story in that each season is its own world. Just watched the first episode and thought it was dope as hell. Hopefully it can carry that for the whole season. I'd go into the plot but I'd recommend going in blind.
