TD S1 is like the best cop thing. Every time I rewatch it I still find myself getting my hopes up that some weird fiction element will jump out at me and mean that it was a closet sci fi horror show.

It was so good. It was basically everything I'd been wishing for in a show/film. (A southern gothic murder mystery with subtle fantastical elements that didn't feel corny + an amazing and almost palpable setting/atmosphere.) It just felt oddly real? Kind of how the new Twin Peaks season felt like a dream that you (and only you) were dreaming. And Louisiana/the deep south is the absolute perfect setting for stories of that nature due to how weird that part of America is in general.
Those of you who like TD should look into the show Broadchurch (first two seasons) if you haven't. They're very different shows, obviously but they have a somewhat similar feel. |

And if you don't feel like the Rust of your own little world then it's probably because you're a boring normie.

Woody Harrison's sideways stares after a Rust monologue might have been the best thing about that season.

Chio, if you haven't seen it already, I think American Gothic would be something you'd be really into. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Americ...1995_TV_series)
