There are, sadly, a lot of shows that get cancelled without fulfilling their story arc. It's been decades since I saw the original V, but I thought the kid saved them, the "star child"? Anyway, I didn't consider it a cliffhanger and given the ratings the show got - especially among those not into sci-fi - I would have been surprised had it been cancelled. Surely you saw V - The Final Battle? As for Terra Nova, that could **** right off: I didn't empathise with any of the characters and I stopped watching after a few episodes. As for Forever, sure they didn't finish it, but given how similar show New Amsterdam ended, I think they did a decent job of wrapping it up as best they could. Reminds me in a way of the end of Ripper Street, which kind of has no real ending, as such, but still ends the only way it could reasonably be expected to.

Lol I just watched Terra Nova cause I didn't have the internet or Cable, so it was kind one of my only options for sci fi. But yeah it was never particularly good.

I watched it cos it was Spielberg, and, I thought, a chance to kind of get a "Jurassic Park series", but it failed wildly and I lost interest really quickly. Just shows that having a mega name attached to your show doesn't guarantee you immunity from the network axe! One of the few times they actually got it right.

I only kept watching Terra Nova because I started it and just wanted to see where they would go. I realize it wasn't that great. I have all of Salvation on my dvr. I haven't watched it yet.

Midnight, Texas ended so well. I hope it gets a second season but I wouldn't be disappointed if it didnt.

I liked Terra Nova. It took a while to get into but really started rolling after a few episodes. It wasn't life changing or anything but after work, I really don't care much for the intellectual route when it comes to it.

Did Midnight, Texas get any better? Only got through one episode.

And I think Forever could have ended better. Like explaining why he lived forever for one thing. I wish writers of cancelled shows would just publish online how the show would have ended if they had got the money to finish it proper.


And there was a bomb on the Star Child's ship c/o Diana . But the show ended so who knows

Yes, I learned my lesson there for sure. Sometimes it does work though. FFC was behind First Wave, and that was amazing AND finished its full run of three seasons, with a satisfying ending.

Diana activates the doomsday device aboard the Los Angeles ship before shooting John, who did not want any part of it. Mike, Julie, Elias, and Lorraine get pinned down by Visitor troops in a ventilation tunnel. The Red Dust begins to circulate, killing more soldiers. Martin joins up with them as they face Diana on the bridge, where Lorraine and Mike attempt to disarm the auto-destruct sequence. The other rebels and Visitors evacuate the ship while Martin attempts to move the ship up and out of the atmosphere beyond Earth orbit. Diana uses her conversion of Julie to distract her long enough to escape. Using deus ex machina, Elizabeth steps up and stops the countdown with her latent superhuman powers. Martin then brings the mother-ship back to Earth.

As for Forever, they explained (inasmuch as they were going to) what happened to Henry that he lived forever. I really don't think, even had the show got ten seasons, they would ever have looked too deeply into the cause, as that was the mystery behind the show. I repeat that I think they ended it as best they could. It's not always necessary to tie everything up in a pretty bow. Look at the ending of the revamp of V: now there was a ****ing cliffhanger, and an annoying one too.

You know, to be honest, I never knew she ever stopped that bomb (Not a Wikipedia fan here...I guess I could have looked it up there but I never have).Thank you. The question does remain though, who won? Did they ever get help?

And no, I don't think they ended Forever as best that they could considering that it only got one season. I like when strings are tied up at the end of shows. Considering I watch about maybe 4-5 series on TV on a continual basis, when one pitters out it becomes a bit annoying.

And I saw the new V...figured the ending was just some kind of homage to the first series..a "You will never know who ever wins".

So you didn't watch the last episode then? Oh. Well in that case sorry but I have no sympathy for your anger at the cliffhanger ending that wasn't. No offence, but that's like walking out ten minutes before a movie ends and then endlessly complaining about the ending. How did you not see V:tFB? Anyway, yes it was completely tied up: the kid saved them and the visitors were going to live in peace with the humans. Diana had escaped, so yes, that was left as a loose end, presumably to tie in if it got another season but it was pretty much done at that point.

I'm not sure you understand what I'm saying about Forever. I would have preferred a better ending too (what about the dagger Judas was supposed to have used, or whatever? That kind of went nowhere, and it was obviously supposed to be a major plot device) but we don't know how much notice the writers were given before they were told they weren't being renewed, and maybe they had to scramble to write a satisfactory ending, which I think they did. It could have been a lot worse. Some shows have ended with... what? But what happened next? And you never know. Look at The Sarah Connor Chronicles. Now there's a ****ing annoying cliffhanger ending!

As for the new V: well it was pretty obvious who won there. Terrible ending, just terrible, and I thought it had real potential.

Boo shame on CBS for cock teasing Star Trek Discovery with one episode then saying you have to pay up to watch the rest of the season which will STILL be released only weekly. They want to get the most out of your sub fees to their streaming service.
