I love this season of GoT. It is straight direct and to the point. None of that pointless filler episode crap that usually pops up mid season. I'm glad the last season is going to only be six episodes.

Binged this week:
Fullmetal Alchemist (2003 version) Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood (2009 version) I'd seen the first one about ten years ago and was lucky enough to remember nothing about the plot, only that at the time I had loved it. So I rewatched it to see if it was actually good, or if I just thought it was good when I was 17. Turns out it's actually a really good story. Both versions are. They're tonally completely different and have vastly different strengths/weaknesses, but they've both got satisfying conclusions, which is more than most people get from a single TV series, let alone two versions of the same story. |

It isn't at all surprising that I'd like cerebral arty ****.

I suspected that the lack of subtlety about a lot of the religious and philosophical themes and imagery wouldn't pass your standards, at least on a first viewing. I mean I'm a huge fan of the show, but when random characters start going on about the nature of man or whatever, even when they're just on a train or something and nothing weird is going on, it can be pretty heavy handed.

Before I got to Evangelion I started watching Death Note on Netflix. I made it through 15 episodes and now I think I'm going to quit because I have never hated a character as much in my life as I hate this blonde idiot who showed up. I hate her enough that I'm losing interest in where this is going. I don't really care what happens, I just want her to shut up.
