Or y'know, I'll just enjoy the show I like to watch and not watch a TV show I don't want to watch. Strange concept I know.

In all seriousness, I probably will check it out. As I didn't know there was a BBC original. It could be right up my alley so thanks for the heads up.

It's definitely worth watching. The guy who plays the main character (the one Spacey plays now) has passed on, but he was a tremendous actor. If you ever saw, or read, Richard III, you'll likely enjoy it. It's all on YouTube, three complete not seasons, but parts: 1) House of Cards 2) To Play the King and 3) The Final Cut. Each is four one-hour programmes.

I defy you to begin it and be able to not go directly on to the next episode.
Having said all that, I ain't see Spacey's version so I don't know if it's better, worse or the same, but this is a classic BBC series.

No. I have the books but only started the first one so far.

Don't bother Ki. I feel like the original is only good if you know UK politics. It didn't do anything for me. I watched two episodes then stopped. All originals aren't greatness.

*shrug* I mean I'll still watch it since it at least seems interesting. I forgot how good season 4 of House of Cards is though. The first time through I didn't really like it much but there's a lot of details in this one and I'm catching all of them. It's great. Super stoked for the next season now.

Yeah, I'm on the second. But it's clear that there is a lot of material that was left out. The point is, it can't be battles and crises every single episode. Gotta build up the story, fill out the characters.

Nah that's bollox. You don't need to know anything other than that there are two main parties in the UK and of course the monarch, all of which feature in the original. That's like saying you need to know about US politics to enjoy the new one, or indeed anything like The West Wing or Madam Secretary. It does help, as I said though, to know your Shakespeare.

^Have you seen The West Wing, TH? I've been wanting to watch it but I've been hesitant because I have such high expectations.

It's totally excellent. Sheen is a true star. Starts to stutter around season seven but up to then I found it to be gold all the way. I actually started watching it by accident, realised what it was, said Hell no and then couldn't stop watching it. It became my favourite show when it originally aired. Highly recommended.

Finished the first 2 seasons.. That is all that's on Netflix. I wasn't disappointed, but I feel like the story is just now going somewhere. The season 1 cliffhanger was pretty lackluster. Also, I'm enjoying Mike's story more than Jimmy's, but overall it's been great. Looking forward to next season, fuck Chuck.
