Mrs. Richards: When I pay for a view, I expect something more interesting than that.
Basil Fawlty: [going to window, indicating] Well, that is Torquay, ma'am.
Mrs. Richards: Well, it's not good enough.
Basil Fawlty: Well, may I ask what you were expecting to see out of a Torquay hotel bedroom window? Sydney Opera House, perhaps? The Hanging Gardens of Babylon? Herds of wildebeasts swinging majestically...
Mrs. Richards: Don't be silly. I expect to be able to see the sea.
Basil Fawlty: You CAN see the sea. It's over there, between the land and the sky.
Mrs. Richards: I'd need a telescope to see that!
Basil Fawlty: Well, may I suggest that you move to a hotel closer to the sea...
Basil Fawlty: [sotto] ... or preferably in it?

Still funny even after the 300th time I've watched it.

And now I've talked about Doctor Who & Fawlty Towers now would be a good time to post this..

Homicide: Life on the Street

Now officially my #1.

May be due to the fact it is what I am watching right now, but Jesus, I just love it.

Why thank you. I think this is going to be a very long, beautiful and addictive journey, considering the lack of sleep I've had this week, up in front of the telly. All of my friends are crazy Whovians so I couldn't really escape it I guess...

I've decided I will rewatch the entire lot of Sex in the City seasons. It is SO good.

YEEEES I wish it was on netflix :(

Anyway other than getting caught up on breaking bad and mad men, I've finally started watching:
http://www.impawards.com/tv/posters/...d_margaret.jpg
I can add it to the relatively short list of shows that can make me laugh out loud even when I'm watching it alone in bed.

djchameleon 08-04-2013 09:10 PM

it's not showing up but I f-ing loved that show.

I wish it was slightly longer but it had to end the way it did.

That show was probably the first sign that I loved trashy girl shows. Not that it's trashy in the same way that a soap opera is, but...yeah.

:)

I've only seen the first three seasons, but I honestly think it's better than The Wire because of how much it got away with despite being a network TV show that aired on prime time.

Been re-watching Breaking Bad in anticipation for the series return and upcoming end. Forgot about a lot of great little moments through out the series (all the scenarios and dialogue with Badger, Skinny P and Jesse are priceless). Then of course the heavy hitting moments still leave impact, even if you already see them coming.

So much depth and emotion to these characters, it's gonna be a shame to see it end but at the same time I'm excited to see the conclusion.

Haha for real man! It's going to be insane!

Spoiler for herp a derp:
It's even crazier because Walter doesn't know that Hank knows who he truly is. I thought it was real clever how they did that. It gives Hank an upper hand in investigating Walt without him knowing.

Ahh man, can't wait for Sunday!

Nearly finished series 2 of Doctor Who (am watching the new generation Doctor Who eps for the first time). Can't believe I wasn't into this show earlier! :(

Werwolf 08-09-2013 04:17 PM

Suits.
Best series I've ever seen, I find it even more interesting than Breaking Bad.

Series 3 has always been my favourite since it came back.
You're in for a treat when you watch that. Especially the last 6 episodes from Human Nature onwards.

Oooh! I am looking forward to it then. Although I've only just gotten into the show, I think it will be hard for anyone to top David Tennant for me. As a Doctor Who fan, what were your thoughts on Peter Capaldi, Urban?

Urban Hat€monger ? 08-09-2013 04:47 PM

I kinda figured it was him because the bookies stopped taking bets on him 3 days before it was announced so I lost out on that 'Oh wow it's him' moment when it was announced.

I'm happy with him, He was on my wishlist to play the Doctor when the series first came back, so he's always been popular with me.

If I was able to cast it if they were going for an older Doctor I'd love to see Bill Nighy do it.
If they were going for a younger Doctor I'd go with Julian Rhind-Tutt.

Fair enough! I love Bill Nighy, he would make a great Doctor!

Urban Hat€monger ? 08-09-2013 05:02 PM

They asked him to play it when the series came back.
They asked Hugh Grant first and he turned it down, then they asked Bill and he turned it down as well so they went with Christopher Eccleston.

didn't you two used to talk about that show? Of course he loves it.

I didn't want to get too attached to it because I felt like it wasn't going to last long so I shunned it.

I was bored at first, but as time went on I was won over. **** Carrie and Sebastian. Mouse and Sebastian were one of the most adorable teen drama couples I've ever seen.

:finger: It's people like you that are what's wrong with the world. I never shy away from a show I wanna watch just because I think it might get cancelled. Then it's just even more likely that it will. If I find out that you didn't watch the new Joss Whedon show then I'm going to come and find you and we are going to have words.

Nope, fuck those networks. They have turned me into the person I am today and I'm sure many others as well. They don't deserve my trust. Give the show a second season then we will talk but expecting me to get invested into a show and loving it just so you can yank it off the air because it doesn't produce enough ad dollars. Fuck that.:nono:

I'm giving Joss Whedon's new show a shot but I'm wary about it lasting plus I don't even have a fucking nielson box at my house so it doesn't matter if I watch it or not. My vote doesn't count towards the ratings. Do you have a nielson box at your place?

Moone Boy

Cute little show on Hulu (here in the US at least). It's kind of like an Irish version of Malcolm In The Middle but with imaginary friends.

Yeah it really was, the glimpse into the future in the opening was especially unsettling.

Also good to see Badger and Skinny P again, that scene was funny as hell :thumb:

Aww I know, when I realised where it was I was like "NO WAY!!!"

I really liked the scene at Hanks. Knew what was going to happen almost instantly!!

For real at first I was like what's going on, then I realized it was Walts house and I was like OH SHEET!

Spoiler for science!:
HEISENBERG spray painted on the walls was another whooa moment, also really curious as to why future Walt needed that Ricen...

And yeah it was such a tense scene, can't wait to see what Hank does now. Gonna be insane!!

CoolBec 08-21-2013 01:35 PM

Is anyone watching that show "Under the Dome"? I caught the last couple of episodes, but I guess I must have missed something, because it doesn't seem as though anyone is trying to get them out.

I mean yeah, of course the people trapped inside are trying to get themselves out, but shouldn't there be like some kind of monumental ongoing effort going on from the outside to free this town?

I'm thinking unless there's a plausible explanation for this I'm losing interest cause it really makes no sense.

Key 08-21-2013 02:31 PM

Finally got around to starting Season 5 of Breaking Bad. I've been without interwebz so I couldn't even watch it when it came to Netflix. Gotta get caught up for season 6!

ilashes. 08-21-2013 02:34 PM

I only went back a few pages to see if anyone was already talking about it but couldn't find anything. Have you watched season 1 of Orange is the New Black on Netflix?

Laura Prepon makes me want to be a lesbian.

Astronomer 08-22-2013 01:39 AM

Just finished Series 3 of Doctor Who (Urban was correct, awesome series) and now I'm moving onto Series 4... I'm sad that this is the last series with the tenth Doctor/David Tennant :(

All I can say at the moment is, I will never be at ease around statues ever again.

I'm re-watching the classic series with my dad at the same time as well! Having a total Doctor Who month! Also:

They did. They failed. So they tried to bomb the dome. It failed. Not much else to do.

Psychedub Dude 08-28-2013 10:15 PM

Just re-watched the last ep of Breaking Bad, and still holy sheet at that ending.

Thom Yorke 08-28-2013 11:00 PM

Six Feet Under

I'm only 5 episodes in but this has been fantastic so far. Absolutely loving the dark humour in this.

ThePhanastasio 08-29-2013 12:32 AM

Breaking Bad. Under the Dome (quite different from the book). The Awesomes (Hulu original). Twin Peaks.

This final season of Breaking Bad has been moving so slow, it needs to pick up steam! There's a lot of tense moments and developments coming about but it just is a little too sparse on the action. I hope its gonna go into overdrive soon, it better. BETCH!
