So I caught up with the Expanse, and oh my god.
Episodes 4 and 5 of season 2 simply blew me away. I really don't want to spoil anything so I'll leave it at that, but I also now know what I could add to all the praise I gave the show earlier: it makes other sci fi shows look like they were made for a teenage audience. And not in a "it's so boring it must be for "adults"" way ;)
Seriously go see it.
Also I have to say, Thomas Jane is a good actor. Or at least - he's a good actor here.

Season 4 Vikings was released on Aus Netflix so watching that. Not fantastic but a decent enough show. Enjoyed the first couple of seasons more.

Been wondering about that one. Didn't realise it was sci fi. I think the description in Netflix made it sound like a detective show. Will have to check it out.

In season one, it partially is. The whole series has initially 3 "characters" that have zero to do with each other - the crew of the Canterbury, a clunky water hauler that harvests ice from comets and such to provide asteroid and space bases with water, a high ranking earth diplomat and a belter (a collective name for those who live in the asteroid belts) detective looking for a missing girl on a space station.
I won't say any more as this is one of those shows that likes going in places you'd never suspect it to go.

This sounds very interesting. Must see if I can get it over here. Probably not. Any plans for SyFy to screen it?

Also, Yac, did you watch Killjoys and if so, thoughts?

Nope, is it any good ? I saw some trailer, the imdb page and decided It will have to wait until I'm ready for another campy sf series with guns going pew pew and people acting like they are 17.
How far off am I ?:D

Well.... it is that, but then again there's a pretty decent plotline running through it, and plenty of gratuitous shots of girls' booties in leather, so yeah, there's that. Plus I liked Shawn Ashmore in The Following, and his brother Aaron is like, his twin, so I like him too. The mythology is very well created and I think it would be a mistake to dismiss it as a fluff show. I think it can get pretty deep, and there's some excellent writing in it.

It's becoming increasingly difficult to sit through a single episode of a TV show (maybe it wouldn't if I actually took my ADHD medication, but I'd rather not pay for said medication) or movie. I have no problem at all staring at a wall while daydreaming about something for 2+ hours, and yet...

I'd been meaning to watch either Dark Matter or Red Dwarf (but it seems the latter is not on netflix instant anymore, as I thought it was), though I think I may want a historical drama more at this point. One with proper character development that isn't mere costume-porn. (Borgias, maybe? I understand there's two different versions on netflix; I've heard conflicting things as to which one is better) Or maybe I'll just rewatch all of Star Trek from the very beginning.

Borgias is good, so is Versailles. But if you are ok with subtitles the Spanish drama Isabel is amazing. I've no idea where you'd get it though: I saw it on Sky Arts and am still waiting for season 2 if they ever show it. Wolf Hall is meant to be good too, and I would also suggest Mr. Selfridge (about the department store) and The Paradise, both set in the late nineteeth/early twentieth century. Also, if you have never watched Robin of Sherwood, definitely recommended.

Thank you, I'll look into all those! Isabel looks especially interesting.

Been re-watching all of the other episodes of Black Mirror. Damn, I hope they decide to keep this going. Watched Shut Up and Dance earlier today - what a nightmare. Watching the one with the robot bees right now.

So god damn brilliant.
