Just found out that the amazing and multiple award winning novel "American Gods" by Neil Gaiman is being adapted into a TV series that will premiere in April.
If you've never read the book - DO IT! Maybe the best fantasy-sci fi novel I've read this century and definitely in my top 5 of all time. It pulled off the rare feat of winning both the Hugo and Nebula awards when it was released. If you dig Stephen King, Ray Bradbury, Dan Simmons, and Cormac McCarthy then you'll love the book. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_Gods_(TV_series)

Let's hope they don't butcher it. I wonder if they'll ever adapt Sandman. I imagine it'd be difficult what with the non-linear timeline and all.
Oooh speaking of adaptations, Preacher is incredible based on the bits and pieces I've seen. Such great casting. (Though I haven't so much as glanced at the comics since middle school so I can't properly judge it I suppose) Will anyone be watching the new Twin Peaks season next month? |

Kinda doubt it. Doesn't really have a hook that could be condensed into a summer movie, and it'd probably be too expensive as a TV series. Would make for a great cable show though.

American Gods will have Ian McShane as Mr. Wednesday and Gillian Anderson as Media (and a ton of other familiar faces). It can't be bad with casting this good.
The book was great, the tv show will be too. (please god) |

True. God it would be amazing if they actually managed to pull it off and not totally blow the casting. (like if they were to cast some bland, wooden, snub-nosed Emma Watson type actress to play Death or Delirium I'd have a rage stroke)

Or Johnny Depp as Dream. They'd totally do that.
