There was some pretty good character development from what I can remember, which isn't much because before I looked it up I was calling Dinobot Velociraptor-tron. Looking back on the show they writers did a good job at creating reasons for certain characters to change forms in order to get parents to buy the new toys their shithead cumsprouts like myself.

I bought/my mom bought me the toys too. Had Cheetor, Dinobot, Ratrap, Blackarachnia, Megatron, Terrorsaur, Scorponok, whoever the winged wolf was, some Praying Mantis dude who wasn't in the show, and probably others. Dear god those names were bad.

Did anyone watch The Exorcist tv series?

I just binged it last night and cleared it off my DVR. It was so good. I hope it gets renewed but who knows with Fox.

I feel like they can keep each season being stand alone stories just bring alone the two main characters to a new possession at a different house(city/area).

Oh man I remember the Praying Mantis toy for the character that wasn't in the show, it confused the shit out of me. Funny fact, in Canada the show was re-titled to "Beasties" because the network it aired on didn't like the idea of the "war" part in a kids show, despite the fact that they changed nothing else about the show and all the merchandise still had the "Beast Wars" name on it.

Did you watch the series that came after, back when they were on Cybertron and the animation looked somehow worse than the first season did in 1996?

That was one of the best. Possibly the best color scheme of the set and the claws were so cool. I was just looking at the toys and I'm pretty sure I had the "trans metal" Megatron. I forgot about the whole transmetal upgrade thing in the show. Goofy as **** but damn were those toys cool.

I've heard that. Even America wasn't that uptight. Reminds me of how Frosted Flakes are called Frosties in Britain.

Bits and pieces. I remember the character designs being lame and the story concentrating too much on melodrama. If I get that far I'll probably still watch it though.

Bad melodrama aside it reminded me of the whole Blackarachnia/Silver Bolt love story. I'd say it was goofy and hilarious but I'm a cheesy **** and I love villain redemption stories in kids shows. And watching Blackarachnia facepalm at Silver Bolt sounding like a Silver Age superhero was always funny.

20 minutes into the first hour long episode of Night Manager and I'm hooked to death. Hiddleston's been on the screen a lot and is excellent as always. Laurie hasn't made an appearance but already he's being made out to be worse than Hitler, Darth Vadar, Pol Pot, Honey Boo Boo, Top Dollar, and Osama Bin Frownland combined.

Just watched the latest episode of James May the Reassembler from BBC4.*

Now playing the surprise test 7" used to see if James got it right after 8 hours of reassembling a vintage portable record player.

Lots of wonderful commentary about the role of the portable record player in the 50s and 60s, the cassette revolution, values vs transistors, and a screwdriver everyone needs in their life.

Favorite quote: "There was a bit of a debate among the crew early on about what it was that truly made this portable. Was it the advent of a universal mains plug? Was it that it was compact? And then Dan the soundman pointed out that it's because it's got a handle on it."

Just finished the first Episode of the Ridley Scott / Thomas Hardy new FX show Taboo (which is free right now on Vudu). Extremely intriguing, very well acted, and killer cinematography and period corrects sets and costumes. Hardy is a force as usual and it's hard to tell where this show is going to go but I'm 100% in.

Just about to start that. Did not know Scott was involved, only makes it better I assume.

Oh that is one amazing show. Wait till you see Laurie. Unbelievable. And so many twists. A hidden gem.

Saw 3 episodes of Taboo, can't say I'm hooked just yet, but I am certainly intrigued.

Started watching Penny Dreadful. Only two episodes in but so far so good. Great cast, nice cinematography and I dig the gothic horror vibe:

That's an amazing show too. Highly recommended. Reminds me, I must get watching that third season. So weird to see Timothy Dalton on TV though...
