But it's a cop show. They're supposed to do cops things. Like arrest people. Sounds like you just have a childish sense of morality.

Last night I watched Black Mirror S03E04 San Junipero.

A lady friend and I were discussing my general aversion to television and cinema after the year 1996 and she suggested that this episode would be worth taking in.

Damn, she was right. Very well-written, hyper-relevant, and an excellent bit of speculative fiction of our very near future. The acting didn't suffer from the overly-dramatic delivery I encounter without fail every time I cross paths with a television. The characters were fascinating, relatable, and the viewer really connected with them as the hour progressed. The writing style was highly reminiscent of that of Rod Serling and on par with the cautionary future-is-now tales of The Twilight Zone franchise. The closing 15 minutes of the program were captivating, right on through the credits.

Really enjoyable and thought provoking stuff.

Yeah, some of the situations they set are real realistic. :rolleyes: I don't want to see every criminal shot, but there have been a lot of them that were, and it just seems that a lot of the time the guy gets arrested and it's disappointing to think he's going to a) get off maybe on a technicality when it comes to the trial b) end up in a psychiatric hospital or c) do a short amount of time and be back on the streets too soon. Muzzle of a gun cuts all that out. And again, yes, I know that doesn't happen in real life, nor would I want it to, but often they hype you up to the point where you're so pissed with the bad guy that you want him dead. And they do a lot of explaining the guy's behaviour, which I know they have to do as it's their job, but sometimes it takes the sting out of the climax of the show for me.

Just finished the first Episode of the Ridley Scott / Thomas Hardy new FX show Taboo (which is free right now on Vudu). Extremely intriguing, very well acted, and killer cinematography and period corrects sets and costumes. Hardy is a force as usual and it's hard to tell where this show is going to go but I'm 100% in.

Beast Wars is about as much fun as I remember, with surprisingly strong voice acting, even if Megatron does say, "Yeeesss!", just a tad too much. Nostalgic childrens' shows ftw.

There was some pretty good character development from what I can remember, which isn't much because before I looked it up I was calling Dinobot Velociraptor-tron. Looking back on the show they writers did a good job at creating reasons for certain characters to change forms in order to get parents to buy the new toys their shithead cumsprouts like myself.

I've probably watched it a dozen times since I first saw it on Netflix a year ago. I'd say it's one of the funniest shows I've ever seen. The first season is a parody of 60's shows like Batman/Man from UNCLE and those trashy men's adventure magazines. Season 2 is rooted in 80's exploitation movies and other classic 80's movie/TV tropes, including an episode where "Johnny Hilter" and the Danger 5 gang go back to high school.

I don't mean to insult anyone who liked it, but my favorite review of Danger 5 is that it's like Kung Fury. But if Kung Fury was actually good and funny.
