I just finished the second season of Man in the High Castle. While randomly dropping in some crazy sci fi stuff I didn't see coming threw me off in the first season, it actually played to the second season's benefit. Little bits of info on where the tapes are coming from and the history of the world since WWII are revealed. There are some subtle touches I didn't notice before that I appreciate. Like the Olympic stadium being domed off and used as the Nazi capitol building - that's a cool touch. Hitler built that to be a huge statement on Nazi power, so it kind of made sense that they'd want to use it as their main government building once they took over the world.

Overall, still not on the level of something like GOT, but it's gotten a lot better since the last season.

I feel like the second season while being all over the place was still very entertaining and has me chomping at the bit for the 3rd installment. Not everyone can have the 25 million per episode that GOT has so i'm encouraged by what Amazon has done with all of their Exclusives.

My only problem with it is that so often they have these guys do really ****ing horrible things, and then I'm shouting when they catch him SHOOT HIM DOWN LIKE A DOG! And they don't. I get really upset when they just arrest the guy. Also, although I know they're not excusing what's done, but sometimes the rationale is skewed to almost make you feel sympathetic towards the guy. I know that's great writing, but come on: when someone has, say, imprisoned three girls in a cage and eaten the faces of two and he is facing the BAU with their guns out I just want them to SHOOT HIM DOWN LIKE A DOG! Sometimes they do, sometimes not. Boo.

You have so much incredible **** to look forward to. God, I envy you. Avoid, I repeat, avoid ALL spoilers. You have been warned. Don't even look at current cast lists. Really. I'm not joking. It's better you don't know.

I think you need to learn about what the criminal justice system does, cause you seem to need a refresher course. I'm rather partial to the police not acting like psychopaths myself.

Eh. Unfortunately with Netflix, it has an image of the recent cast so I already know something happens with the main guy. But I'll keep that in mind.

I love the old episodes of Cops from before it really took off and they had better funding, so they would have less footage. I just saw an episode where a cop solved a domestic dispute that had been over for ten minutes and neither were pressing charges so he just left. Riveting stuff.

the best part about Cops is that Bar Rescue used to come on right after. now that's what I call TV.

Right. You do know that I know it's a TV show, don't you? Like, I wouldn't watch say a live feed of cops arresting someone and say SHOOT HIM! I'm talking about the way you get hyped up for the death of the bad guy and then all you get is him in handcuffs. Would you have been happier if Rickman's character had made it in Die Hard, instead of falling to his death? THAT's what I'm talking about. Sometimes the payoff is a little weak, considering how they build up the crime.

Sounds like they're aiming for being more realistic than predictable.
