It only ran for one season back in the 70s but it was a huge influence on Chris Carter's creation of The X-Files and is well worth checking out. It's sort of the same premise as The X-Files except it's a lone reporter doing the investigating instead of two FBI agents.

Funny bit of trivia: the main character is played by Darren McGavin (the father from A Christmas Story) who also guested on The X-Files as the guy who founded the x-files.

Huh, I'll have to look into that. Funnily enough it's actually what Supernatural was originally envisioned as, and that show shares many writers (and the Vancouver filming location) with The X-Files.

Oh cool, it's also on Streaming Netflix.

Did anyone ever watch Baywatch Nights? The first season was just the ****tiest of the ****ty kinda detective show, but the second season became all about supernatural stuff for no apparent reason. It was still laughably terrible, but it had David Hasselehoff fighting werewolves and vampires and trying to save Gena Lee Nolin from the regular series from a demonic possession. It was pretty ****ing epic.

The second season, however... WAY better. If you decide to watch it, don't even bother with the first season. The first and second season aren't related anyway.

I'd recommend watching the second when you have time. Jessica Lange is amazing in it.

What makes it a good series though? Most people boast about it here. I got the impression that it's about the stories of different murders or serial killers each season which sounded typical. Then I read it wasn't just about that.

I won't bother with it now if it isn't really worth watching since I'm running through other series, unless it's really a big deal.

TOOMS!!! The chupacabra episode was epic too and a young Jack Black and Giovanni Ribisi in the Lightning Man episode was the **** also. Scully would get it good too right in her ginger face.

Tooms still scares me at night occasionally when I lie awake in my bed and think, "Oh ****! What if...?" :D  :shycouch:
Scariest episode of any tv series I ever watched, ever. Brr!

Have been watching Haven Lately. Not a bad show really. Kind of in the X-files/Fringe genre and pretty well written and enjoyable for the most part.

I lost track of Haven after the first season but I was interested in it for a bit.

Speaking of Fringe, that series is the reason I wanted to go back and watch X-files again especially since the series finale just happened this past friday.

I flew through this series called Lost Girl but some things about it just annoy me and I could tell that a woman wrote the series. It's almost like a lite version of True Blood.

The newer Haven episodes are unbelievable. Fringe is one of the best series since X-files if you ask me. I'll have to check out Lost Girl sounds like its up my alley. Good to see you floating around DJ been awhile.

Bob's Burgers

Seriously if you're not watching this show, you really should be. It's easily the best thing on Fox's Sunday night line up. I still need to catch up on season 2, but so far season 3 has been hilarious.

I need a new series. I've finished all the ones I was watching... well except The Walking Dead, I got a little bored.

Yeah, as much as the idea of a zombie TV show makes me happy, I tried to read the comic that this came from, and I just got bored after an hour or so. The character drama was just uninspired. From what I hear from some people, it doesn't sound like they did any better with the show. I haven't seen the show in case you didn't pick that up.
